I decided to open this thread for those of us in the facilities management industry. As we all know that facilities management is becoming a fast growing industry, and there are opportunities in the industry irrespective of the aspect of it that you find yourself whether in the Residential(Estates), Hospitality(Hotels, Suites, etc.), Healthcare(Hospitals), Educational(Schools) etc. In case you do not know, facilities management is an aspect of Engineering/Estate Management that deals with the day-to-day operational management of facilities such as ((Plumbing Facilities, Electrical Facilities, Elevators(Lifts), Water Treatment Plant, Sewage Treatment Plant, Power Plant, Air-Conditioning Systems, Fire Protection/Alarm Systems, Extinguishers, Recreational Facilities such as Swimming Pool, Lawn Tennis Court, Basket Ball Court, etc.)). This is done through the implementation of the policy and procedure require by the clients and the company you are working with. The sole aim is to assure a well managed and well maintain facilities. To make sure all facilities are working efficiently and effectively. It also involves budgeting, customer relations, project management, etc. Most building on the Island part of Lagos State engaged the services of facilities management company to manage the building. There is always a FACILITY MANAGER on ground to attend to any issues within the building. This is done with the help of Site Technicians like Plumbers, Electricians, Lift Technicians, AC Technicians etc. to always attend to residents issues.

Here on this platform, I will be dropping the links for any advertised vacancy in this field. Lest I forget, I got a Facility job that I will resume for next week monday 8th February, 2016 on Nairaland. I saw the advert on Nairaland last December, we were called for Aptitude Test early January 2016, called for Interview with the panel, called for Chat with the HR, called for Facility Tour/Assessment and finally called for a chat with the CEO. In all the stages, I thank GOD that I was chosen(the last man standing). I started my career in facilities management in November 2012 and it has been FROM GLORY TO GLORY so far.

1. Facility Management Professional (FMP) : $3,510 at IFMA Nigeria(International Facilities Management Association, Nigeria) and it is around #650,000= at AMF(Alpha Mead Facilities and Management Services Limited)

2. Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP) : I do not know the amount, because you must do the number 1 first before others.

3. Certified Facility Manager (CFM) : I do not know the amount, because you must do the number 1 first before others.

It is just similar, not same. FM only have some components of BSE such as the maintenance of the services that are needed to allow the building to do what it's designed to. These services include: acoustics, health and safety, heating, lifts and escalators, lighting, power and supply, security.

If you work with AMF, you can do it there at a subsidized amount.
