Salute to this great people
Great people, great nation
Salute to this race
Niger-area unique people
Pride of Africa
Beauty-seat of black
Citadel of great minds
The race who share one voice
Instrument of greater height
Icons of greater might
Many people, one body

The Nigerian red eagle
Seated on mounted wreath
Our symbol of strength
Icon of our splendorous might
Beauty of our dignity and labour
Respect of our selfless service
Reward of our hardworking and efforts
Crown of our struggle and independence

Strength seated on endowment
Nigerian black shield
The icon of our ‘owns’
Of our fortuitous qualities
Of our land and culture
Minerals and solid resources
The bank and stream of the nation
Pride of her people
Blessings to the world

The home of waters
Flowing abundantly everywhere
Of our major two rivers
Y-shaped, silver-coloured wavy band
Rivers Niger and Benue
The strength of our farmland
House our sea-natures
Power to our dark homes
Source of our traditions and festivals
The bound of our regions

Oh! Our valued dignity
Our passion drive
Cherished and admired
Ably supporting the shield
The two white horse, our dignity
The joy of our immense labour
Drive that moves us ahead
Drive for fatherland growth
Force for great success

And of our vegetation
The source united green
The coctus spectabilis
Wild flower common to our areas
Found everywhere in our nation
Flavouring of dear homeland
The land is green
Green, green, can’t you see?

All shows our nation
All describes our fatherland
These speak us to nations
Tell about us and our values
Of our inheritance and beauty
Our people and our land
Bound us in unity and faith
Making us strive for peace and progress
