I will advise any one dat sincerely believe in this country to take out time and listen to this 26+ minutes interview b4 commenting. It is a pity dat d President fails to realise he was being interviewed by a very intelligent mod on a global tv station. This is d first interview dat I v seen someone looking our ruler eyeball to eyeball and asking those frank questions dat touch on d fabrics of our corporate existence as a country but if u ask me I must be honest dat d President answered below par from economy to security to foreign policy to Biafra renewed agitation et al. Why I expect backlashes as usual but pls do ensure u spare some mb to watch this epic documentary first.

Buhari refuses to watch shooting of unarmed pro-Biafra protesters

President Muhammadu Buhari was interviewed by Martine Dennis on Al Jazeera while he was in Qatar last week. The interview was broadcast today.

He was asked about the shooting of unarmed pro-Biafran protesters in Aba, Abia State on 9 February this year and Dennis suggested he could watch the video. Buhari point-blank refused to watch and then said the pro-Biafrans “should not be joking with Nigerian security”. His disinterest in the shooting of unarmed people would be of interest if he ever faced trial for crimes against humanity, considering that as president, he is ultimately responsible for the actions of security forces in the country.

The Biafran part of the interview came towards the end after another train-wreck of a performance from the president. Despite Dennis’s friendly disposition, unlike her Al Jazeera colleague Mehdi Hasan, who tore Buhari to shreds in an interview on the channel in October last year, the president continued to show why his dwindling band of supporters would cringe with embarrassment whenever he faces any interviewer that does more than toss him soft balls.

He was questioned about his foreign exchange policy affecting Nigerians who had children studying abroad – just like he did. His response was that “those who can afford it can afford it”. It appears he is among those that can afford to send their children abroad for education, which is different from the picture he painted when he claimed, while running for president, that he could not afford the nomination fee.

Buhari’s response to detailed questioning on the padding of his budget was to tell the interviewer that “you know more about our budget than I do”.

After his spokesman Garba Shehu had declared in February that the president turned down the invitation of Saudi Arabia to join a coalition of Islamic states against terror, Buhari flip-flopped in this interview to state that Nigeria had joined. He did not seem concerned that Nigeria was not an Islamic state and said that any Christians complaining about it can go and fight Boko Haram.

Questioned about whether he had defeated Boko Haram after claiming that he would defeat them by the end of December last year, Buhari told Dennis that the people of Nigeria knew better than her.

The same way he won't watch this one where Hausas/Fulanis are burning houses and massacring innocent Nigerians at Orile, Mile 12, Lagos State.

I think Chukwu Okike Abiama brought this man back to disgrace him.
He is a fundamentalist Fulani rag head and blood thirsty.

He enjoys carnage and blood letting done by military and Fulani, two most important things in his life.

ICC have sent official letter to IPOB concerning the video sent to them and promised to start investigation and possibly prosecution very soon.

To all Yorubas wishing death on Biafrans, let me tell you, if Hausa Fulani massacres half of populace in Lagos, Buhari will do Nada to them.

He is a terrorist, quote me anywhere.

America has just played Buhari a fast one. They will either amplify or downplay this only if Buhari will play "ball" with them. With America it was always remains "their interest"

Will Buhari boycott international media? Time will tell...

Just watched the interview PMB was on point.

How can the interviewer try to ambush Mr President in middle of an interview by asking him to view a clip she culled from youtube, that is unverified?

Buhari should stop attending interviews with Al Jazeera, their interviews are too hostile.

Buhari is truly an embarrassment on a global scale. He kept telling the Aljazeera journalist that she knows more about the budget than he does. How can a president not know his own budget? When the journalist asked him if he wants to see the video footage of The Nigerian Army and Police shooting unarmed IPOB protesters in Aba, he flatly refused to do so. How can a president in a democracy on a global media like Aljazeera refuse to see evidence of a crime being commited by his armed forces? A concerned president would be demanding to see it. He then concluded by saying that his government will not tolerate Biafra or anyone who subscribes to it.

My take on Buhari is that he should have stayed in Daura tending his cattles than coming back to be president. He has an old, rigid and analoge way of thinking. He simply doesn't understand the dynamics of Nigeria. Buhari is a disaster of a man and president

God will surely punish buhari for all the crimes committed by his government against armless protesters. His government will surely go down in history as the most discriminatory and ethnocentric regime. Nigeria for me is a dead country whose citizenry have lost their conscience. In my view people have a right to express their reservations without being killed or molested.

Typical Nigerian 'a$$licking mentality'. You don't know that it is the job of journalists to confront political leaders with tough questions? You think Aljazeera is NTA? A president who knows what he is doing should be presenting himself for 'grilling' because he knows that accountability should always be his watchword
