A lot of people surf the net but don't know there's a second, darker layer of the web Google or any other regular search engine can't crawl. This part of the Internet is called the dark-web it's so popular that movies and series have been made to let the public know how dangerous it is.

The dark web is also popularly know as the Hidden web or the Dark net or onion land, it has the Hidden Wiki (The wiki of the underworld), Dark book (the Facebook of the underworld, don't worry I'd share my username if you ask), and other crazy forums...maybe you will find Koboland there self.

When something is termed dark in technology or Internet terms it is evil but still there are some benefits of using the dark web meeting people you can talk to anyhow and meeting real friends...they're no borders, no banning, no rules.. grin

The dark web is like 90% of the whole internet, like literally. shocked

Since it is evil the FBI and other government bodies reside discreetly on the Dark Web and pose as drug sellers/buyers at times to trap criminals. Be careful with whatever you're doing on the dark web.

Want to know how to get in...post Yes, already a dark-webber share your experience.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Onymous Operation Onymus is still up and running, these guys brought down Silk road 2.0, a criminal base and arrested it's 26 year old owner "DefCon" and in no time Silk road 3.0 was born..the family moves on no matter what, they hack and unhack, do and undo.

Accounts holding thousands and some millions of bit coins were seized, a lot of people got away with these crimes.

Watch out for Naira land on the dark web, maybe someone might open a .onion domain and call the site "koboland" hahaha grin , What do you think guys, if that happens what will be dominant there, remember no bans, no mods, no rules.

Me I think chest beating will be on top of the list, then the old scammers of NL will rise again...

For those that want to join, note that you are joining at your own risk, I expect you to use your discretion when accessing the Dark Web and I assume you are accessing the Dark Web to test security issues and for educational purposes.

Okay enough long story,

Note that you can only access Dark Web websites using a special routing browser which uses proxies connected with a global network to make users anonymous. Dark web websites can't be accessed on Internet explorer, Mozilla or the normal browsers we all know because they use a special .onion top level domain name which normal clear net websites don't use, something like jsjwiJaiI17ua18iw.onion .

So go ahead and download the Tor browser (don't dare ask me how to do that or where to download it from grin ) install and use Google to search for the Hidden wiki's updated .onion link (They take down those sites a couple of times so you've got to be updated) or visit deepdotweb or all things vice and get links, Use the Hidden Wiki to find what you're looking for.

Please use your discretion when uploading sensitive information to the Dark Web

I'm not. Currently, I have no need to be on the Dark Web. My needs are minimal, and currently the standard WWW provides.

Yes, the onion land owners Tor, have an android app which can be downloaded from their website, torproject.com I think...I also think there are some few things that also have to be done when using mobile, there are YouTube videos that demonstrate this (I haven't entered the dark web with an android device yet), but technically speaking an android device may give away your anonymity and may be unsafe..your android phone has fixed width browsers (you can't manually stretch them like on the PC) which can allow someone guess your type of device. You can give it a try tho.

But just know that the FBI has control over Android security and can get into an android device whenever they want, so be a good boy when using your Android to surf the Dark web grin .

Yeah, you can't just get in like that with only those, you still need to do some things I can't type out now. Just watch some YouTube videos..you'd get in, they're not longer than 5minutes usually.

Even when I encrypt my android with a 26 character alphanumeric pass?

Also how bout Tails? I use it sometimes but I hear that traffic analysis can give one away as either using Tails or TBB

Exactly, you using a service or technology keeps you safe from everyone but the owners..they can divert your information whenever they choose depending on their privacy policy. Nowadays you need extra security when in the dark web, apart from Tor itself.

I normally switch my OS to BackTrack and do some extra things to keep myself safe. On your android device, if you're a developer , the best solution is making something that you only can use, maybe a proxy app using some high-tech mysterious methods for hiding info else whoever you trust or whatever app you use will only temporarily keep you safe, remember they sell these in formations for high prices to guys like the FBI.

I noticed the lack of information on this thread, so I'll try to provide some for the curious.
The dark web aka dark net [wikipedia][https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_web] is a part of the internet that uses encrypted peer-to-peer tor routing between you and the resource/url you want to visit. Here are the facts you need:
* It started, just like the regular internet (clear net), as a U. S. DARPA-funded project that eventually got taken over by a community of volunteers.
* The purpose of the project is to create anonymity online:
** Anonymity for you the user accessing a resource/url
** Anonymity for the server hosting the resource/url you're accessing
* Tor sites end with [.onion][https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.onion]
* To acesss .onion (tor) sites you need to use either of the following:
1. On windows: A modified version of firefox called the Tor Browser Bundle that can be downloaded [here][https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en]
2. Use an operating system designed for anonymity online such as The Amnesic Incognito Live System[TAILS][https://tails.boum.org/]
3. On debian/linux or ubuntu: download the tor browser launcher, which downloads the tor browser bundle viz:
* from your terminal or bash, type: sudo apt-get install torbrowser-launcher
4. Use gateway services such as Tor2web https://tor2web.org/
* People who've run into trouble with the law using tor sites did for one of the following:
* Distributing or watching child pornography (illegal in the U. S.)
* Distributing or selling drugs e. g. Silk road
* The dark net, however, hosts some resources/urls some people, especially researchers and students, can find useful. Some of them are:
* Scihub http://scihub22266oqcxt.onion/
* This site has a nice and large collection of books: http://clockwise3rldkgu.onion/libr/browse/category/allbooks
* If you're still curious after reading this long, you can check out the following resources for additional information:
* Quora: https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-deep-web-and-how-do-you-access-it
* http://www.sickchirpse.com/deep-web-guide/
* I've attached some screenshots. You can check them out.
* You can drop questions and i'll try to hang around awhile to answer them.

You have to set Tor to connect using proxy, and enter the address and port for the proxy just like you did in Mozilla Firefox, and it should work well.
