A. INSURANCE UNDERWRITTER
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Write insurance policies, negotiate with brokers and draw up insurance contracts.
2. Study insurance proposals, gather, assess and analyse background information necessary to effectively assess risk involved.
3. Liaise with specialists to obtain information, quotes and rates or to explain company underwritten documents.
4. Calculate possible risk, decide insurance premium amount and ensure that premiums are competitive.
5. Decline proposals with excessive risk or request re-insurance of policies when risk is too high.
6. Decrease value of policy when risk is substandard and specify applicable endorsements or apply rating to ensure safe profitability distribution of risks.
7. Review company records to determine amount of insurance in force on single risk or group of closely related risks.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years post NYSC experience

B. BUSINESS DEVELOPER-INSURANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Sell insurance policies to individuals and corporate bodies.
2. Create a client base for the organisation.
3. Discuss with prospective clients on the insurance packages of the organisation, obtaining necessary information for insurance cover.
4. Develop market strategies to grow the organisations client base.
5. Customize insurance programs to suite individual customers.
6. Calculate premiums and establish payment period.
7. Ensure policy requirements are fulfilled and necessary requirements are provided.
8. Monitor insurance claims and ensure they are settled timely.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years post NYSC experience
