The former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi has admonished the pupils of St. Mattew Anglican primary School, Eziagu, in Orumba South Local Government, Anambra State, to  obey their parents and teachers and take their studies seriously so that they will become successful in future. Obi was speaking on Friday, when he visited the school owned by the Anglican Archbishop of Aguata, Most Rev. Dr. Christian Efobi.

Obi who donated the sum of one million Naira to the school to assist them to upgrade their infrastructure, said that he would henceforth take special attention to the development of the school, urged wealthy Nigerians to assist institutions around them that are engaged in the training of the young ones.

Obi who interacted with the pupils told them that with hard work and dedication to duty, they could become Presidents, Governors and successful professionals in their own rights.

Responding, the headmaster of the school said that it was unbelievable that a school like theirs in a remote community would play host to a former Governor. He assured him that the visit would ginger the staff to greater productivity and the pupils it would be a life long inspiration.

my brother, Orumba is in Anambra south which is the senatorial constituency of Sen Andy Uba. Obi is from Anambra central, so don't call it politics but he is his doing what he does best.

You need exposure. Governors should not go around making donations. You all don't ask questions. Where is the money coming from? Is it his personal funds? How can he afford it? Is it from the state budget? If it was, was it budgeted for? If he is so compelled to donate money, for the sake of transparency, an NGO should be established where private organizations and citizens can contribute. That is how it is done. Remember, Dasuki went around donating to evey tom, dick and harry and people like you were congratulating him. What is the reality today? Not saying that in countries like America, governors may or may not do such things, but it is easy to track where the money is coming from. As far as i know, they don't. They are smart enough to avoid such things. Nigeria does not have such checks so it is easy to divert such funds for personal use as seen by the Dasuki saga. You guys need to wake up.

I hate all these attitudes exhibited by our politicians. They only perform when they need votes. Why is it now that Obi's campaign poster is out that he's doing this? Why now? All the same, he's still a trusted son and hopefully he doesn't get to the senate and become redundant like Ngige (who was also an excellent performer).

Former governor Obi of anambra state. A governor that just finished his term. So what did he do as governor? Is he giving them back their allocated funds (looted) through donation?

I don't understand us (Nigerians) anymore. We have lost our value as a nation, as individuals.
