So after 10 months of APC and now is when he is going to power plant to read the manuals on how power works. This is what is called learning on the job. On a second thought, I think we are very much doomed. How can Fashola who has no single experience as electrical engineer be a Minister of critical sector like Power Ministry ? What does a property lawyer know about electricity modules.

Things like this makes me think Buhari is totally a mor0n. You do not expect results by using ignorant people on critical sectors.

He is looking at the dates of manufacture and maker on the body of a switchgear. Nairaland has too many children making comments. You always get that feeling of parochialism and complete ignorance.
One very funny thing about you jesters is your inability to discern those who meant well for this Country and those pretending. This is the same man who felt its better to hike electricity tarrif that he knows is not efficient before he deliver this same electricity to the teeming masses yet clowns like you cannot reason it out that Fashola is a schemer........ After 4 years kindly remind us the Megawatts Nigeria will be generating through Fashola.

This was a coal fired power plant. You need coal to be running first before you even re-build the plant. All Jonathan's efforts to revive coal failed because of too much complex commerciality and lack of transparency. We need simple direct intervention with the minimum of noise making

Just do a feasibility study on coal deposits to determine quality and quantity to determine what type of plant is required and where it will be located. This is government's job and should not take more than 6 months.

Get off-the-shelf low power (5 to 10mw) plants from China by selling bonds to the public and advance Transysco to build transmission lines and stations for power evac., massively subsidised by direct labour from the Army Corps of Engineers and graduating youth corpers of engineering qualifications (compulsory). This should not take more than 12 months.

Commission private enterprises to mine, process and transport the coal at a premium to guarantee supply. This should not take more than 6 months.

Supply electricity to dedicated industrial parks ONLY. Not to homes, offices, playgrounds or places of worship so that the power can be sold at a premium to repay bond and attract private sector take over within 2 years....from the day the Minister visited that plant.

A picture they say tells a thousand story.

The picture here shows a man who is completely lost.

You get this type of issues if you send a Lawyer to do an Engineer's job.

Who is in charge for pass 16 years?
What he contributed to power as Governor in Lagos alone is a credit.

Are you angry may be he came to visit and see the level of damages done on the plant?

Or he came to expose your backyard?

I think the guy is pointing out that he is not an Engineer to know what's up. That is one problem Nigeria has, given a post to someone that knows nothing about a field he works in.

What are the duties of civil servants experts in the ministry of power?

As a lawyer(San) and ex governor with experience in contracts terms and conditions, he can take care of management and maintenance terms and conditions.

He also have experience in power and solar installations in Lagos.

My dear forget that. He is not an Engineer and shouldn't have been given such a job; if is not Panadol e no fit be like panadol. It is this same issue that affected the missing budget. When the man at the top does not know anything about that field, his workers go take am do yeye.

No since 1960 by 2019 another government will revisit that place and you still gonna repeat this comment. We keep seeing the same people in government.

At last a working minister.

Is this what the 16 Years of PDP left us?no wonder there is a problem of power supply.

Thank God this Government is working round the clock,to make sure there is a constant supply of power.

Even with this condition of the power station, when PDP was there, the power failure was better than what we have now. Also, the minister's visit to the station does not signify he is working. It's all about what happens after the visit.

This Administration is a huge joke.....even from the pix one can tell that Fashola the scammer is clueless about how power works just take a look at how he is staring at the equipment...... So so sorry for Nigerians. More irritating is when you now discover that it is still this same clown that is billing Nigerians with higher power tariff that is not working.
What 'equipment'?

If gej had no ideas why is it that buhari and his cohorts are still following and implementing his policies and ideas?

Remember even buhari himself has acknowledged more than once that it is gej policies and roadmap that he is implementing eg TSA, power sector reforms
And even fashola himself has stated it that it is the laid down plans of gej ,they are implementing and that out of all the past governments it is only gej government that had done more roads.
What policies has this government initiated for the last 10months?
Governance is about continuity and buhari has done well by not abandoning gej projects or ideas

Keep deluding yourself, You can show yourself where and when both said those jibberish you put up.

Meanwhile governance is not always about continuity, especially not ineptitude, waste and corruption that GEJ's government typifies and I wonder where you got that rubbish as well.

Enchanting old ruin too decadent for modern demand. We need a completely new set of equipment to cater for the increasing demand for power.
