Still learning the ropes on gfx design printing aspect myself but

*if it's saved as JPEG/JPG or PNG it can be viewed directly as an image file, sent across devices, viewed on the Web when uploaded/downloaded cos the file size will be small, depending on the contents of the design.

*If it's saved as CDR it's in the file format that can only be opened & edited by a Corel Draw application also considering if it has backwards compatibility so it can be opened & edited by an older version of Corel draw.

Hope this helps, if anyone has a much better explanation please kindly do for general enlightenment.

You can also export as a PDF file, its easier to print tht way too, which is good cos ur work wont b tampered with, irrespective of the corel version the printer opens it with.
