After some delays owing to the late arrival of the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Danladi Umar, the corruption trial of Nigeria's Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has started in Abuja, Nigeria capitalal.

The lead counsel to the Senate President, Kanu Agabi is leading 79 lawyers, while the lead prosecution counsel; Rotimi Jacobs leads a 9-member government team of lawyers..

Mr. Saraki and several Nigerian Senators arrived the court room as early 9:55 AM. He was then put in the dock as soon as the tribunal chair arrived.

No big deal

Besides people should stop complaining about the numbers of Lawyers and Senators accompanying Saraki.

How can 80 Lawyers be greater than the Federal Government and all the members of APC fighting against him?

It takes common sense to understand that 50 is not bigger than the F.G with its over 170 million people. The F.G is the entity intimidating Saraki, not the other way...

Now to the irrational minds; say after me: 80 is not greater than 170 million grin grin

it's only when you are guilty that you will be looking for ways to cover all your tracks Saraki knows he is guilty hence looking for every possible means to shelf this case.
but can he truly win this care or not? that depends on whether the FG really wants to fight corruption or not

Politicians are just toying with our welfare? this trial is delaying the budget and the budget if passed will reduce the hardship in the country, but non of them will give up for the interest of the masses. selfish politician

Well the man has a right to as many lawyers as he can pay for but this is pure madness and intimidation. 80 lawyers shocked. So let's say at the rate of 2m per lawyer , that's a whooping 160m lipsrsealed

Ahh! Last time a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Rickey Tarfa went to court with 90 SAN/lawyers. Today a senate president Bukola Saraki went to court with 80 Lawyers. Who knows how many lawyers former EFCC chairman Lamurde will hired when facing a court. Anyway, He who is guilty is the one who has much to say. All i wish and for, is a better Nigeria.
