The alleged defection of Governor Ikedi Ohakim of Imo State to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) takes place on the 25th of July 2009.

It would be recalled that newspaper publications within the last one week had purportedly reported that governor Ohakim of Imo state, who was elected under the banner of the PPA during 2007 election, would decamp to PDP on July 25, while it was also said that President Umaru Yar’Adua would attend the ceremony.

Surprise surprise!!
What is the difference between PPA AND PDP? Both has two Ps each and has A and D respectively, apart from that, I don't even think that the Ohakim himself knew the difference.
On 14 April 2007, Martin Agboso won a landslide victory of which Ohakim came behind in fourth, until Agbaoso refused agreeing selling Imo state to Maurice Iwu and Achinike Udenwa. Then Iwu decided that the election was marred by violence and cancel the election but recognise the house of assembly election that was held simultaneously with Agbaoso's election. Miracle!!!!

And two weeks later, Iwu went to work and by the biggest miracle of swing vote ever, With Ohakim jumping from distance fourth into landslide victory. The appointed all Udenwa's men as his commissioners and endless advisers and Maurice Iwu's younger brother as the secretary to his government. So why is anyone surprise that he will be joining PDP as if he wasn't a member in the first place and Udenwa's desperation to keep another rogue called Ararume away from the Owerri governement house.

Please can you produce any leaked memo which detailed how Agbaso won the election and Ohakim came 4th?

Thanks you!!!

If this is the case, then one can say Ohakim has been a PDP man in disguise all along. Why then wait till now?
