hello everyone especially the 'clausthalers',

It's been a very long time. I got an e-mail from TU Clasuthal requesting for an interview this week. In the content, I was asked to give my skype name, day and time that I will be ready for the interview. i have replied already but there hasn't been any response from them angry.

For those who have gone through the interview process, do they [TU Clasuthal] add you to their contacts on the D-day or you get a notification earlier.

Thank you.

Hi mannimakerjnr.

You will be added few minutes to an hour before the scheduled time for the interview (unless a new approach i'm unaware of is now in place). Prepare well for the interview and dazzle your audience. Besides, which discipline did you apply for?

I have applied to study Drilling Engineering at the Institute. Also planning to research on Drilling technology or completions (Mud and Cementing).

Cool. I don't really know much about the interview process for Drilling and Production Engineering but I could find out for you and give you a response sometime soon. I'm more familiar with the Reservoir Engineering Department interview process. All the same, I wish you the very best in your interview.

P.S: When is it actually holding?

Sorry I couldn't get to you in time. It was held today at 10:00 GMT. It went well thou. Questions like, why Germany, why Clausthal and interests. Also very basic questions like area of a triangle, volume of a cylinder, Force and some integration. Indeed, I was and am still shocked. shocked shocked shocked shocked. I thought the questions were going to be a bit .... Thank God for today. smiley

That's great. I guess your interviewer was in a good mood wink. I'm sure you will be admitted into the programme. You can start making plans for the entire visa process.

Please house I need an urgent help for drilling fluid specialist materials. I have Bsc Pure & Applied Chemistry, Professional National Diploma in Safety and Security Management. I applied for drilling fluid specialist position on Schlumberger Careers website sometimes ago. They just got back to me that they are interested for my CV and will schedule for assessment later. I have never attend Mud school, but have a wealth of experience on oilfield with fugro Nigeria Limited as a environmentalist. Please also enlighten me for this Mud Engineer or drilling fluid specialist duties. I knew they will train me if I succeed. But I want to have first hand knowledge. This is my email victor.victor.ifiri@gmail.com

Welldone sir. Am also a graduate of chemical/petrochemical engineering. I have love for drilling and would delve into it if I am given proper orientation. These questions bother me.
1. I have no industrial experience, is it wiser I gun for a masters degree or acquire certificate?
2. What professional courses should I acquire as a chemical engineer that dreams of working offshore?

Hey, am so so impressed with this thread and I have been hopeful that one day something like this will come up in NL.Actually  am new here but I hope to contribute my own quote on any topic.am a graduate of chem eng but i work now as a drilling engineer in an indigenous drilling company here in 9ja.am also a professional well planner and anti collision expect.am good in directional drilling software's  like compass and well plan etc. dr.ferlie is nice to have you on this thread at least to tell us more on related topics.

I have decided to create a thread for drilling engineers and drilling supervisors ( company man ), so that we can share experience and best practices.

I am currently working on a BOD for a deepwater field development - drilling and completion.

Guys, come in and let's discuss.

Wow..,.. It's been a while. Concluded mud engineering from pti. How's your end ?

We are trying to process membership registration with them. Can anyone here who is a member or members they hip of similar professional body help me out (as a reference/sponsor)........this is a requirement for the registration.

Thank you in advance.

Please your contributions and suggestions are needed urgently.

A well is to produce from 3 payzones without commingling, which of this completion configuration best fit the design process.
1. Using SINGLE STRING SELECTIVE COMPLETION where the zones are produced one after the other. The bottom produces first to abandonment and is plugged in then the second bottom is open for production and so on.
2. DUAL STRING - TRIZONE COMPLETION where the well produces from two tubings (bottom and second bottom Payzone) while the uppermost zone produces from casing.
3. MULTI-ZONE TRIPLE COMPLETION where the well produces simultaneously from 3 tubings.

Note: the well is to produce without commingling.

To answer the question, dual string would be a preferred option for this scenario

Since production is without commingling , Multi Zone Triple Completion is the best .

Hi everyone,

If there is any opening for a roustabout or a trainee drilling / completion engineer, I am very much available. I am much more interested in getting the field experience and on-the job training, than the compensation package. Please contact me if there is any available.

well in this case as always, since the aim of a petroleum engineer is to optimize profit and save time; the best design process would be multi zone triple completion.

please people as a graduate of petroleum engineering who has passion for the job am pleading with anyone and everyone who has got an internship slot or information to please hook me up with such coy, i don't mind not been paid as my earnest desire is to acquire the necessary field expertise....
