90 days ke?

He could make a quick recovery and return earlier than the estimated date... It happens often in football..

But why do I have this funny feeling that Napoli might inflate the return date just to keep him away from the AFCON??

They're definitely doing it. I don't see how they will want to lose him for close to 16 matches. that 90 day story if true, is a fraud.

Some people don't even know that Taribo West was trained by Coach Monday Sinclair with the aim to take over Keshi. He had the defensive talent but was totally skilless. grin

A former Sharks defender who later assisted Coach Amodu while he coached Sharks narrated how Sinclair spent a lot of time teaching Taribo how to be a skillful player.

He explained that Sinclair used to tell Taribo that if he does not up his skills he would end up a carpenter.

What I am trying to highlight is that ball playing has been a big part of our play. Even Taribo who was not too that skillful.

In France 98, when under pressure, I think against Denmark, Taribo pulled off a ball spin skill that had the whole crowd shouting.
I remember how ball playing Emma Teberen was rated than Taribo West during Mauritius 1993 but Auxerre moved really assisted West career.

Yes you must know how to play the ball on the ground as CB to really flourish in Nigeria team.

The Dutch can be rough o forget don't you remember the world cup games against Portugal (2006) and Spain (2010) when they da si rough the game?

I'm talking about the old Dutch style. The real total football Johan Cryuff style, everybody is trained to be comfortable with the ball including the keeper. They dumped that style prior to 2006 world cup after they failed to qualify for 2002 Korea Japan.
In 2010 under Van marwijk, they were pragmatic with DE Jong and Van Bommel in the middle.

But they still had creative elements in Sneijder and Robben. I don't think they have dumped their style all together but you're right that they are pragmatic.

Yeah i keep saying our need for Osimhen is because of the foolishness of our coach.
He also has david okereke, Anthony Nwakaeme, emmanuel dennis, henry onyekuru as wingers
and he beleives that without chuwueze and ejuke we dont have wingers.
I dont understand how rohr reasons.
Obinna Nwobodo, Alhassan Yusuf, Akinkunmi Amoo etc should be tried in our midfield in order to replace ndidi and iwobi.
Rohr will make us believe the team cannot function when iwobi, osimhen, ndidi and chukwueze are missing
and that is sheer folishness on his part.
Rohr is in this mess because he does not know or understand our players

Having a few creative players doesn't mean you play total football, you think the old Camerounians with Eto weren't skillful? Total football is a pattern of play not individual skills

Even one month out, napoli won't allow him to play the AFCON.

The best option is to invite all our strikers doing good and select the best.

Awoniyi,sadiq,mofi,david.
Invite d above names to camp,
let them compete with iheanacho n onuacho,
n pick d best

Not sure they want to sack him, they'll be contractually obligated to pay him off, not sure they have that kind of money. Read another article yesterday (can't remember where now) where it was alleged that the NFF practical has to blackmail Rohr to reach an agreement. They allegedly told him they couldn't guarantee his security in Nigeria any longer and that anything could happen. The writer was pissed the NFF could stoop so low even though he also was pro-sacking Rohr.

From reports they finally reached an agreement to either keep him on a monthly payroll till the the end of his contract (terminates of he gets another job) or they both agree on a vesting plan for his payout.

I believe we'll have a better picture before the week runs out

I like the fact that Osimhen is missing AFCON. Guy has been carrying our team for so long. Now that he's out, we will be exposed badly if Rohr is still the coach by then. There will be no way Rohr will carry us to the World Cup.

Any new coach must learn how to develop the attacking talents we have asides Osimhen. Osimhen will not always be there, and he doesn't need to considering our bench.

It is good news for me. We are not ready for this next AFCON. We need to use this AFCON to develop a team that will go far in the World Cup. To me, the AFCON is but a training ground to really hone the arsenal we have for the bigger stage.
