Oga rest everyone knows Uzoho committed a blunder but the way you guys are hyping Bassey as if he's already the finished product, we've seen him play in GWG and he was shaky in the two Ghana games caught out of position on numerous occasions, he'll come good for us we know, but right now he's not proven that he can start ahead of Balogun/Omeruo.

Is Omeruo proven? Someone that plays in the valley of spanish second tier,if he was a "lion in a small league" like his compatriot Sodiq who plies his trade in the same league, it would have been understandable. This same thread will make you believe non league level players Zubby and Nwakali should be playing for Madrid and Barca respectively, why should hyping a more deserving player be a problem?

we know get midfield the BoBo gave his 101% on that day boasting forward trying to push attack and at the same time returning to cover what else do you want from him at a point I even pity am because he almost passed out from to much work load baba we know get any finished product in our national team, the best we have na above average and on that day the above average we had in the midfield was absent and ghanian took the midfield with their above average grin grin grin

You guys are more critical of Bassey's performance against Ghana than you are for Uzoho, you'll think he (Bassey) was the one that committed the error that led to Ghana's goal, "I WiLl pICk omErUO ovER bASSey", always hyping mediocre players not worthy enough to make the standby list of San Marino's NT,* spits *.
Uzoho and Okoye fumbled against Ghana and Tunisia, we roast them. What is bad in doing the same to Bassey with his very poor performance against Ghana. Osimehn sef was not spared.

First Bassey is a defender , who did a decent job just like any other player who is suitable for that position would play. Zaidu sanusi wouldn't have done any better, it's not as if when sanusi plays, he would create nice crosses, overlapping runs etc. perhaps he does that in Porto , but he hasn't given that impression of an irreplaceable player in the Eagles fold.

Secondly, it was Bassey's first full debut , the home crowd , the cruciality and anxiety the match potrayed was felt by all. On the far right , Aina was well spent. The centre backs pair of Balogun and Ekong didn't show so much composure and understanding as they've been playing together for years. Bassey became the playmaker from the defense, virtually all balls were played to him for his discretion. Again this is someone who was having his first full cap. Nobody wanted to make a mistake but Bassey was always played on the ball. When Moses Simon came in , he still fumbled with the ball, holding on to it too long without any end result. There was no synergy between Moses and Bassey. this is understandable as we were seeking for the second goal.

Bassey was still able to dictate the play as he was so calm and this affectes the whole team as there was no sense of urgency. Again look how he assumes the mantle of leadership for his full debut. The other creative players were null and void. But the young man was just playing his game as he understood it.

He did very well for me. He moved the ball on his wings many times too. But he was overall calm and that's just the beauty I've come to appreciate about him with time.

Two Premier League clubs have reportedly joined the race to sign 2019 Nigeria U17 invitee Malcolm Ebiowei this summer.

According to the Daily Mail UK, Manchester United and Newcastle United are the latest teams linked with a move for the Derby County wonderkid.

Previously, it was reported that his form in the recently concluded season attracted the interest of Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace.

Ebiowei, who was named on Nigeria's provisional roster for the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup, had a breakout campaign with Derby County and finished the season strongly, with three goal involvements in his last three games in the Championship.

The 18-year-old is under contract with Derby County until June 30, 2022 and is unlikely to extend his stay though manager Wayne Rooney would like to keep him.

Once regarded as one of the top youth team prospects at Arsenal, Ebiowei joined Scottish giants Rangers in February 2020 after he was not offered a scholarship by the Emirates outfit for reasons not related to football.

The attacking midfielder was on the books of Chelsea before joining Arsenal aged eleven.

A lot of reasons you stated here are valid especially being his first debut but the fact still remain that he flopped against Ghana. I mean, he couldn't even complete ordinary passes. So, you people should stop exonerating him please...that doesn't question his quality though. Infact I'm seeing him as a future starter. Ndah, Awaziem,Bassey,Ozonwafor.... Hopefully, we get other quality ones too

Despite all these, dem no invite Awoniyi to replace them, rather they went for Terem Mofi who scored only 8 goals in all seasons ahead of him.

I don't know the si unit used to invite players to the national team.
Maybe Awo is not available too. I know Westham and Newcastle are also looking at the possibility of signing him!

he wasn't any shaky. he was solid and even helped with his physicality when subbed in for zaidu in kumasi

he was also solid in abj. its not hype bro but the potentials he posses as a young defender holding his own in europe. i can't remember the last time a young nigerian centre back made headlines the way the kid is doing currently

if renowed football analyst and pundits can agree that is one for the future then i see no reason he dont deserve the hype. if many here can hype medicores like nwakali, awaziem and co then the lad currently deserves more

for him to attract interest from bigger leagues in europe implies he is highly rated currently

A Ghanaian took the ball away from him and left him like 30 yards behind. Even Bassey himself said he struggled and found it hard to breath.
