Javier mansharano record against Nigeria.

2008 Argentina 1 vs 2 Nigeria ( Beijing Olympics)

2010 Argentina 1 vs 0 Nigeria (World cup in south Africa)

2011 Argentina 3 vs 1 Nigeria (friendly)

2014 Argentina 3 vs 2 Nigeria (World cup in Brazil)

2017 Argentina 2 vs 4 Nigeria ( friendly)

2018 Argentina 2 vs 1 Nigeria ( world cup in Russia)

All these as a player we manage to defeat him once, now as a coach we manage to get pass him once some people are complain about not playing attractive football.

That was what was thought before but now it is a general fact that history remembers the dominant sides. In a long run, dominant play yields to growth of players and teams.

Also, I am saying we should not mistake the win as a sign of strength. We should not get comfortable and know we still have lots of work and risk ahead.
Who is this we we we

It is rather this itch you have to paint the world your own way in the name of idealist

We all celebrated the win. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone "getting comfortable". These boys & their coach get [honest] assessment every matchday over here

Stop this compulsive behavior to raise dust everytime. Haba

100% spot on.

TheGoodJoe, in addition to this, modern day football has gone beyond ball possession and domination without end product.

Today's game is all about efficiency. The team that created 4 chances and converted 2 is better than the team that created 12 chances and converted 0. Whether you are building for the long or short term, result is what matters.

Actually, it is a huge misconception. After years of studying football, true guage of team strength is in chances created. Sometimes, chances are taken, chances are not. That is not down to team quality.

So in this case, 12 to 4 chances created shows the gulf in class between Argentina and us. This will tell you why we should not feel too excited.

Finito.

I wonder how I raised dust every time. There is no dust but just pointing out the win is not a show of strength. We were fortunate.

The aim of the pointing? And the pointing out to who?

Yes I know.

But what we do is sweep over all these issues in a wave of sentiment based bias and pretend these issues don't exist.

And begin to declare our players as world class and the next best thing and call them generational talent.

We have a Nigerian playing youth football โšฝ in inter Milan and we are claiming generational talent at 18 (and if you want to go further that age could be easily disputed)

Valentin Carboni is in the same situation as Akansanmiro (well actually a bit better situatio), and I think he is a generational special talent. Was impressed with his performance against us in that game.

The team still got relegated. This accolade isn't worth chest beating over and I can guess Nacho wouldn't be particularly excited himself

At 18 you should be showing it should no longer be wishful thinking ๐Ÿค” but more or less establishing high level quality potential.

So who are the individual players please
Nnadi, Eletu, Daniel Daga, Frederick, Sarki, Umeh etc

Not worth chest beating about, yes, but it's something... It shows that he tried enough for them..
I'm sure if it was Iheanacho, somebody like our resident Southgate will go on about how he was outstanding in a poor team....

Anyway, this should do him some good in case he wants to leave... I'm very sure if he wants to leave, and his agent knows how to work, he can easily get a team in Europe's top 5 to sign him... The question should be if he wants to leave... Championship or not, Leicester are still obliged to pay him his wage as stipulated in his contract

Just shut up, guy. We created the best chances before our goal.
After we scored, do you expect Argentina with their pedigree at that level playing at home not to press forward in search of a goal? Seriously or are you just being myopic?

How many chances did the Argentines created before we scored? We could have scored more on the counter too. We even hit the post first.

You are sounding stvpid trying to sound intelligent. Go and sit somewhere.

Ladan should start. Daga, Nnamdi and Eletu in the middle with Umeh in attack. Samson Lawal has not lived up to the hype.

He should not be tempted to start Sarki. We need him in the 2nd half when our opponents are tired.

Disrespect any Nigeria team at global stage at your peril!
Only children born in 2000s disrespect Nigerian team. I am still not happy we missed Qatar. You would have seen footy!

Even when we lost on international stage we give our all. Nigeria is a football powerhouse! Period!

Man in blue, I normally like your write-ups on this thread, (Fun Fact: Na you make me follow the thread seff two years ago, I've always followed as a guest) but since that day we won Argentina, everything you've been saying/typing no just follow at all...

We won Argentina is what matters, stop downplaying these guys efforts down to sheer luck! Without looking at the internet or stat books, tell me the percentage of possession between Argentina and Nigeria in the 2005 U-20 World Cup. How many shots on target for Argentina/Nigeria? How many chances were created by Argentina/Nigeria? I bet you can't, but the scoreline? You'd remember easily!

That's what matters in a game, it's good to play beautiful football, but na the scoreline matter pass! If we were on our way home now, you no go dey shout they played beautifully o... Finito โœ๐Ÿพ

So much animosity.

I am talking about a 90 minutes game and not moments of the game. In the whole game, one side created more chances at a higher rate than the other. The other side kept the ball better and more tactically versed.
