Le Guen To Coach Super Eagles by Nobody: 3:19pm On Apr 02, 2016
TheNationOnline:

Sportinglife can reveal exclusively today that Frenchman Paul Le Guen has tacitly accepted to coach Nigeria’s senior team, the Super Eagles in a two-year deal that is renewable based on the team’s performance.

SportingLife scooped further that the Frenchman demanded that the NFF gets him a house in Abuja where he hopes to stay and monitor the domestic league players plying their trade weekly.

Indeed, Le Guen will get a house in Lagos where he would go to watch the league matches in the two stadia in Lagos and also the games in the South South, South East and South West areas of the country.

Interestingly, SportingLife reported yesterday that NFF chieftains have offered the new helmsman a whooping 40,000 Euros monthly and that the new tactician would pay for the services of his assistant and a trainer from the monthly 40,000 euros which he has accepted to earn during his three-year tenure.

Le Guen, who was born 1 March 1964, is a French football manager and a former player. His last role was as manager of the Oman national football team, from which he was relieved in November 2015.

Interestingly, NFF chiefs have decided to allow the technical crew that prosecuted the two-legged ties against Egypt in Kaduna on March 25 and in Alexandria on March 29 in tact, given the remarkable manner in which they worked as a team for the games.

Indeed, on Tuesday, NFF hierarchy would meet with the sports minister, Solomon Dalung where the issue of Le Guen’s employment would be exhuastibly discussed, just the NFF’s plans for the Russia 2018 World Cup competition with draws of the competition slated to hold in June.

NFF men are also toying with other options principal of which is the urgent need to fill the void that would arise in the squad when Samson Siasia head for the Rio’ 2016 Olympic Games, in the event that the minister isn’t persuaded to employ a foreign coach for the Super Eagles after the Tuesday’s meeting in Abuja.

Already, the NFF have contacted renowned agents to shop for international friendly games meant to keep the Eagles busy now that the drawsfor the Russia 2018 World Cup would be held later in June.

Hmm Lekwa Le Guen, small time now you will be booed out like vogt. By mere looking at this man and his resume you will find out that this man is seriously looking for a job anyhow. "Accepted" to coach Eagles as if all other coaches had been abandoning the National Team. He wasn't even hired by a better country and they even fired him just this November. How is he even better than the Siasia if not that he was chosen because he has a white skin

To be sincere, that is what we need at the moment. It seems these local coaches lack prerequisite to pick genuine players for very important matches. The memory of our last game against Egypt comes to mind. A good and experience coach should not leave important players out of such important game. It was really painful. Let's see how things go.

I hope this is not a money for pocket venture. The NFF has always been notorious for hiring foreign coaches and engaging in loose contracts that nigerians can't understand because he is "foreign". Remember lars lagerback?

Red flags from Paul Le Guen's Wikipedia page.

Rennes
He resigned from Rennes in 2001 after a fall-out with the club's board. This led to him taking a year off from football.

Rangers
However, Le Guen made a poor start to his Ibrox career. His record across his first ten league games was the worst start to a season by an Old Firm debutant since John Greig's team won only two, drew six and lost two of their opening ten games in 1978–79.

On 8 November, Rangers were knocked out of the Scottish League Cup at the quarter-final stage by First Division side St Johnstone. The result, the first time Rangers had been knocked out of a cup tournament by a lower league side at home, prompted protests outside Ibrox and demands for the situation to improve.

On 1 January 2007, Rangers announced that Le Guen had stripped Barry Ferguson of his captaincy of the club and dropped him from the squad for a match the following day. BBC Sport reported that Ferguson would not play for Rangers again under Le Guen.

Murray announced on 4 January 2007 that Paul Le Guen had left Rangers by mutual consent. This made him the club's shortest-serving manager, and the only one to leave the club without completing a full season in charge.

Cameroon National Football Team

Cameroon were the first team officially knocked out of the 2010 World Cup. He announced his resignation on 24 June 2010.

Oman National Football Team

Oman were eliminated in the group stage of the tournament with one win and two losses. He was sacked on 19 November 2015 after a poor start of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign.

I don't believe in foreign coach. Local coach will help our economy because they will spend some of their alawee here. Foreign coach will not.

Paul Le Guen's impressive performance from his Wikipedia page

Lyon
Le Guen replaced Jacques Santini as manager of Olympique Lyonnais in 2002 after they captured their first league title. Le Guen experienced a grim start to his managerial career at Lyon, winning only 3 games of the first 9, but eventually took Lyon to a further three consecutive championships and reached the UEFA Champions League quarter-final.
