SAY 'NO' TO NATIONAL GRAZING RESERVE BILL.

Are you aware there is a bill in the National Assembly for the creation of National Grazing Reserve accross Nigeria to enable Fulani herdsmen have compulsorily acquired land for rearing cattle? Do you or your community have 'free' land for this purpose?

If this bill is allowed to become law, it is bound to escalate the unending fatal clashes between these herdsmen and the
indigenous farmers in the entire South and middle belt!

Fulani herdsmen who are quite rich should learn to invest in their businesses by developing ranches in the Fulani dominated states where land is abundant with the support of their Governors.

In this 21st century, it is unnecessary, If not primitive to treck thousands of kilometres with herds of cattle, destroying the crops and farmlands of farmers in the process.

Apart from that, their target is the SS and SE. The agenda is to bring Islam to this area by fire by force.

Please join Igboekulie to say 'NO' to the passage of this bill in the interest of peace and equity. Call your Governor or Senator/Rep to STOP this BILL immediately.

I don't see anything wrong in the bill. Everybody has right to live in any part of the country.

Fulani herdsmen are not as bad as the way Igbos are painting them. If you leave Lagos, Fulani can then leave your land.

They have a right to live anywhere but they must acquire business concerns and dwelling places as private individuals seeking to do business and not by force of law.

Trade and commerce are the forte of the Igbo. Have you heard of any law for mandatory provision of shops and lands for their business? Did any govt in Lagos give an Igbo man free land? At least they contribute their quota n pay taxes...can u guarantee same from itinerant cattle rearers?

The FG cannot forcefully convert people's land for cattle rearing. If it most be done then they should limit it to the NE and NW. Coming down to any other part has to be as responsible business people minding their businesses and for delivery of goods. As destructive as they are u really think having the backing of FG compulsorily acquired lands and so called grazing routes will not increase their feeling of invincibility?

Audu is importing grasses to be planted, they have large expanses of arable land so they should limit their grazing reserves to their areas.

There is more than enough land in the north to establish grazing reserves for fulani cattle, they should be established there.

If care is not taking, Buhari might subject this hetrogeneous entity into war with his tribalistic rulership style. You are barning importation of certain items into the country when its obvious we can not produce such items here in Nigeria on our own. Simply because it so easy for to do knowing that Igbo business men are the ones afected. However, now you want to give your tribe's business culture every opportunity to thrive even at the expence of other people's rights of inheritance. Why should there be any such Bill as giving the Fulanis a compulsory grazing accomodation in a 21st century economy, when anyone intending for any business must on his own, provide facilities to establish his investiment upon? The Fulanis must acquire lands under the land act law and establish them as ranches for their business. Otherwise there will be rampage

Well, as long as such mundane bill will not include SE region, i have no problem with it. If they like let them alot all the lands in southwa.ste for grazing, that's non of our business. After all they are partners in Islam.

Grazing reserves had been established in Nigeria in the early 60's and 70's , It was sponsored by the USAID and it worked effectively until resources started dwindling due to our poor maintanance culture

So, The previous reserves were located in Jos , Kastina , among other places equipped with earth dams, plains , fire breaks e.t.c. and It never led to the complete islamization of the North

Why are ibos always complaining ? I am sure the new bill will not site any grazing lands anywhere near the ss,se or nd , and even if it does they will be on their ranch a fenced and gated community not roaming around anywhere

So why are you really opposing this bill ? You don't want them in one stop you don't want them to roam free , WHAT THE FACCK DO YOU IBOS WANT ??

Cattle rearing has not been commandeered by fiat as belonging to the FG. It is business by private persons who make their money for their personal consumption and at their discretion. Therefore they must acquire business concerns and dwelling places as private individuals seeking to do business and not by force of law.

The role of government should be policies favourable to agriculture such as interest free loans and enabling business environments for more modern methods. That the law has been since the 70s doesn't make it good law.

Trade and commerce are the forte of the Igbo. Have you heard of any law for mandatory provision of shops and lands for their business? Did any govt in Lagos give an Igbo man free land? At least they contribute their quota n pay taxes...can u guarantee same from itinerant cattle rearers?
