GudluckIBB: They don't mind loosing economic benefits as long the support is to their own /party. The calabar - Lagos rail was designed to put them at the disadvantage when their shindred were plenty in government. Can't you see how the 2nd Niger bridge has been up and doing - at least it is our eward for standing firm with pdp since 1999! |

GudluckIBB: There are two sides to this budget issue. Many people have been focused on the corruption and greed of the NASS. No one have looked at the non performance of our south-south members of PMB administration. The minister of Transportation is from S/S, The DG budget office is from S/S. The only major project missed out from the budget is a project for the S/S, from transport ministry. How can both Amaechi and Udoma miss the only major project for their zone?, and when they realised it they did not follow the formal channel of communication between the executive and the NASS who also is from the S/S to pass the supplementary budget to them. The minister went with it during budget defence and it was accepted but when submitted to the appropriation committee they dropped it on technical grounds because it was not presented the right way but they did not drop the money for it, they called it floating fund. The Lagos - Calabar rail line is not a new concept, It has been on the board for more than three years. Money has been spent on it. The front end engineering has been done, The design drawings and costing have been completed and funding agreement reached with China. If one also remember that the NASS also said that no allocation was made to East - West road from that transport ministry and this same ministry has also dropped the maritime University in the same S/S. one begins to wonder if actually our man is actually working for our collective interest. Politics is local and one must work for the local interest first. It is not a coincidence that both chambers are headed by the North, and the appropriation committees are also headed by the North. They are there for a purpose. so if an opportunity comes where they can technically remove project meant for the south and divert the money to boost their own they will gladly do that. this is a lesson for those who sees nothing on the lopsided appointments of the Government. |

Tokety7:I quite agree with you to an extent.. But why should him use his position as Appropriation Committee Chairman to influence or divert huge resources to his constituency? Was that why he was appointed? This is a case of national interest.. And he abused the position.. If this is the new trend in the house now, then house representative members from other constituencies will start fighting for that position next year na.. Honestly, he erred on this one |

kahal29: But thats the problems. If every constituency try to take this kind of move. Do u know what the budget would cost? What he did was plain day thievery, what baffles me is how his colleagues where there seeing him stealing us blindly and didnt object till sahara reporters gave their numbers. Then again this kind of mentality by the owner of this post is what is killing nigeria and nigerians. Imagine this man here I quoted not knowing the difference between what is right and wrong. With thoughts of this nature our generation is in trouble. We are talking about a budget built on borrowed moneys and one person decided to send 40b to his constituency. WTF, he should be impeached and removed straight. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

blazetitov: And when does fighting for the interest of people in his constituency well become a crime? This is a call for others to sit tight and wake up to their responsibilities. Imagine! this man was able to include these projects which were not initially included in the project submitted under the watchful eyes of SE/SS Senators, while the SE/SS rail project was rejected because it was not included in the main budget: who is fooling who? Kudos to Jibrin jooor.... |

Now Senators in the South know why their counterparts in the North find it easy to get reelected, they allocate projects to their consequences through the FG budget including Town Halls and ordinary boreholes. 1 Like |

Hatred is self-destructive and I understand why many hate Amaechi and want President Buhari's admin to fail. However, toiling with a project as d lag-cal rail line shows we hate our unborn generation even more. You say an enemy of your enemy is your friend , then choose to support d legislature for its wrongdoings. "E pa npa rare o ni oun pa aja" Few years from now, ex president Jonathan and Amaechi will reconcile as there s no permanent enemy in politics. I hope we southerners will have something to point at when d north enjoys hers. 1 Like 1 Share |

OGGS2000: Hypocrisy is when people complain while knowing quite well the origin of their problems!! You are compaining now bah? Were some people not rejoicing not too long ago about how both chambers leaders emerged! Lopsided appointments? Who appointed who? you know it was an "election" aided by saboteurs!!! APC's plan was to put Ngige as SP then Gbajabiamila as speaker, with SS deputies for BOTH (SS had president before) Ngige didn't make it back & PDP colluded with Atiku, Saraki & Dogara, The rest is now history... I removed the other parts cos they are out of context!! Thank me later! 1 Like |

kahal29: u guys read but comprehension is ur problem. so in ur assertion, the speaker is a fool cos jibrin cornered more for his constituents than what d speaker got. we all saw that only apc in the reps that r high ranking officers shared n benefitted from the 20billion naira, why did leo ogor support the president from not signing the budget into law? is he not pdp? d whole people who spoke against jibrin r they not pdp who were dislodge from what really happened with the budget, why r u so fixated n angry with bmb? yesterday pdp senator sponsored a bill concerning the pocketing n the bad renumeration by nnpc to federal govt by sen bassey akpan, bmb supported d bill. how come northern senators who love their people more couldnt sponsor d bill? stop attacking bmb, he isnt ur class. abi na only bmb senator dey the whole south south |
