In recent times, Nigerians have been awake to disturbing revelations of the budget process. Accusations and counter-accusations have been shot from opposing sides of this debacle. From their revelations certain things can be established from the whole process.

1) That the final budget is subject to NASS adjustment.

2) In a system where virtually "everything" is duplicated (from the functions of the both houses of the legislative assembly to the ministries and agencies) that the federal legislators have formed a tradition of impunity where certains projects are duplicated amongst various levels of Government (Federal, State and Local govt.) which breeds corruption.
Nigerians must ask at this point in time if this act which they claim to be "a tradition" is a tradition that is constitutionally legal or a tradition of impunity.

3) That the minister and the chairman are guilty of one "crime" i.e the later insertion of projects into a budget already submitted by the president. But in this case the chairman's submission was taken while the minister's was rejected. Why is this so?
The executive should not blame the legislators for removing a project that was not legally presented, at least this is what the legislators are saying.

And for those who fault the Southern senators for an oversight; well, this why we say the social media is here to stay, to serve as an instrument for the people in today's world.

@ lalasticlacla, do you think the people are oblivious of the above submissions?
