Thank God you're a bit wiser than the other blind wailers singling out Amaechi and Fashola only for blame, by using the word "36 governors". NOI simply compared the two bosses she served under -OBJ and GEJ and stated in clear terms that one had the political will while the other didn't despite Crude oil selling at the highest under him and he depleted our foreign reserves that others before him helped to grow. She has clearly indicted GEJ with her statement and vindicated PMB when he said that the immediate past government had plundered our Commonwealth like no man's business, hence the current hardship we face. To say this is the same man some id!ots including you unfortunately celebrate as a hero just because he conceded defeat in an election he clearly lost goes to show some people's stupidity is simply irredeemable.

Is the Federation Account owned JOINTLY by the three tiers of government?

a) Yes
b) No

Okonjo iweala: “We saved $22 billion because the political will to do it was there. And when the 2008 /2009 crisis came, we were able to draw on those savings precisely to issue about a 5 percent of GDP fiscal stimulus to the economy and we never had to come to the bank or the fund.

So Opolo-eyes has gotten her voice back!

Why did you not tell Jonathan to save, as the Minister for Finance and Economy Coordinating Minister?

Okonjo iweala: Okonjo-Iweala added that Nigeria was able to save $22 billion under former President Olusegun Obasanjo, which saved the country in 2008, when there was global economic meltdown.

She never blamed him.

The lack of political will was caused by Amechi and his cohorts who sued the Federal Government to share the excess crude oil to states.

The Federal Government lacked the political will because of the likes of Amechi.

This is why I have consistently called GEJ nigeria's worst president ever. NOI failed to mention that the fg knew oil prices were going to fall. They saw the disaster coming, yet did nothing but line their pockets with loot.

Someone mentioned roads constructed and availability of fuel during his tenure as positives. Why didn't he build refineries to ensure we had cheap coal tar to maintain and fix roads? Why were we importing coal tar?

If we had refineries, we will not be having this shortage of fuel and dollars we are experiencing now. All GEJ did was to excuse corruption and to educate us on goat and yam theory.

At times I wonder why any nigerian would support a person like GEJ. Even his mother should be ashamed of him.

cheesy cheesy

What a poor attempt to help NOI and English people redefine "lack of political will". Can someone else take the blame for your lack of character?

So lack of political will to save was caused by Amaechi? But GEJ didn't lack the political will to move soku oil wells to bayelsa despite all amaechi's screams? He also didn't lack the political will to try to impose Jonah jang as gov forum chairman despite amaechi winning?

Its only when it came to saving that he suddenly lost the will even though no court asked him to share?

PDP had 23 govs. Did amaechi point the gun at them to force them to also join him in demanding their share? Amaechi's share of the money was less than 1%, why didn't GEJ and NOI give him that pittance and save the remainder? What happened to the fg 52% of the money?

Political will does not supersede rule of law in a sane country practising democracy. 2 governors got court relief to "share the money " and the money was shared; end of story. Political will is a collective issue for the political gladiators and not GEJ alone.

Because the cycle is repeating itself. Today we have a nomad who just jets around the world begging for money to give out to people. Who is busy fighting the NASS on top of a padded budget so he could settle his cronies. Who is using subsidy payment like traffic light.
Guess who will pay for that loan.....

1. NOI is just re-affirming the same thing OBJ said about NOI needing proper handling and leadership.

2. NOI trying to save face by subliminally throwing GEJ under the bus; a la, I did well under OBJ, I couldn't have turned bad overnight . . . blame my boss who lacked the political will to do the right thing.

3. The Governors were not elected to lead this great country -- the buck stops with Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, just as it presently does with PMB.

4. Imagine PMB or Kemi Adeosun trying to blame Fayose and some errant governors for PMB's failures . . . would you listen to them?

5. BTW, most of them governors were PDP members at the time.

I will advise that u study the politics in the budget b4 apportioning blame. And who is talking about subsidy payment? Get ur facts right. Begging for money? I wonder how u expect him to run the country on empty treasury. NOI, an active member of the past administration, has spoken, and according to her, the present hardship is due to the lack of political will of the past administration (in which she had served) to save for the rainy days. Keep defending falshood. And the funniest thing is that, even the beneficiaries of the corrupt administration are fully aware of the situation but some who might even had been impoverished are among the best praise singers. This is purely a slave mentality.

When I think I have read the silliest and most senseless post ever another shows up to replace it like this one. Is it not easier for you die hard Jonathanians to admit the truth for once instead of dancing around it in your futile effort to absolve GEJ of blame for where Nigeria finds herself today? So the tail (Amaechi) wags the Dog (Jonathan)? May the lord never make you a leader because you will simply blame all those under you for your own incompetence. GEJ was simply an appeaser who felt it was easier to use every situation to please others, and thus keep a stable political ship, rather than do what is best for Nigeria and Nigerians. Jonathan never picked up any challenge to fight for Nigerians. Instead he chickened out of every confrontation, thus letting other win easily to the detriment of Nigeria, because he was only concerned with keeping the political peace that aided the looting of Nigeria he was conducting with his fellow crooks.

The only time GEJ was bullish and aggressive was when he stood to gain politically such as the NGF (Nigerian governor forum) elections where Jonathan felt he must, at all cost, defeat Amaechi in his effort to remain in Aso rock beyond 2015. You people should be ashamed of yourselves. The most shameless folks in Nigeria are the supporters of Jonathan, like you, who continue to blame others for his weakness, incompetence and love of corruption. You continue to worship a President who is amongst the most selfish and anti-people leader Nigeria has ever had while having the temerity to blame others for his failings. I feel sorry for you.

Governors Fashola and Amaechi went to court demanding our savings be shared, today they're both ministers.
NOI did allude to the role played by those govs in the unadulterated version of her speech . I read her full speech.

Yes they took Jonah-daft to court but the court never granted their request. It was in the interest of Jonah-daft to share afterall the lions share of the loot goes to him so he shared the money and never waited for court proclamation.
By the way, governors also went to court on the same issue during obj tenure, yet obj saved.

a president ill vote for
one who knows what it means to be commander in chief
one who will not bend to the will of others, expecially when he knows he is right
one who knows how to save for rainy days, even if he is not allowed to save everyone's money(the state) he can save his own( the FG)
one who will not blame others for his actions

a president ill not vote for
one who does not know what it means to be commander in chief
one who bends to the will of others , expecially when he knew he was right
one who can't save for rainy days
one who is is Jonathan.

obj earned less, yet he saved. jona earned more , he did not save.
governors tried to force obj to share , he showed them why he is commander in chief. governors tried to force gej to share, he coward even before the court got to decide.

During obj tenure, the govs knew who the president is, during gej tenure ,we had about 5 presidents

“This time around, this is the key now, you need not only  to have the instrument, but you also need the political will. In my second time as a finance minister, from 2011 to 2015, we had the instrument, we had the means, we had done it before, but zero political will.
“So we were not able to save when we should have. That is why you find that Nigeria is now in the situation it is in. Along with so many other countries.”

Ngozi, though female, is not immune from the typical self-centeredness and ego serving drive her Ibo male counterparts are reputed for.

What's it with this woman desperately advocating for World Bank and IMF to force developing countries into a culture of saving?

To the wailers....from the above quoted statement Ngozi is in agreement with Buhari and APC on two points:

1 - Nigeria is in the position we are in now because of Jonathan's political recklessness.

2 - there is no need to invite Obasanjo to EFCC but Jonathan ought to be probed, not necessarily incarcerated...but to uncover gaps that we need to prevent from repeating in what is left to be lived before the Nigerian Sovereingty is dissolved, in peace or in bloodshed.

Dont tell me that if you are given a simple passge ti deduce a fact, you cant .
