lol same Awo that dealt Biafra two deadly blows by the jugular even without going to war.

1.) currency change
2.) starvation policy.

Awo was too intelligent grin
he was intelligent by being a coward ?

He was intelligent for backtracking cowardly after promising to declare our seperate republic?

He was intelligent by selling we yorubas into the hands of mile 12 and ondo fulani marauders?

He was intelligent by taking poison meant for rats and other rodents?

He was a big time disgrace to we yorubas and we must admit it if we must move foward. We should not be defining success by how much our son hate ibos.

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and his father, Sir Louis Philip Odumegwu Ojukwu in 1937. Both would later acquire intimidating credentials.

Sir Louis Philip Odumegwu Ojukwu:
He was believed to be the richest man in West Africa and is often touted as Africa's first millionaire. From buying an old second hand truck, he built a large transportation company and then diversified to create a huge business empire. He was also:

First president of the Nigerian Stock Exchange
Chairman,Nigeria cement company (NIGERCEM)
CEO, Ojukwu Transport company
Chairman John Holt West Africa
President, African continental Bank
Chairman African shipping council
Chairman Costain West Africa
Chairman, Eastern Nigeria produce board
KBE (Knight of the British Empire)

As at 1966 when he died of heart faliure, he was estimated to have been worth about 40 Billion Dollars in today's money. He was even richer than Dangote

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu:

B.sc , MA -Oxford
First indigenous assistant district officer in the old eastern region and one of the first in Nigeria.

First graduate to join the Nigerian Army

First quarter-master General of the Nigerian Army

First and only Military Governor of the Eastern region.

Head of state and commander in chief of the Biafran armed forces 1967-70

Eze Ndigbo gburu gburu ( King of Igbos worldwide)

I don't know if Igbos will ever produce people of the calibre of these two men ever again.

1966 is not a long time, no way he was worth 40 billion, what's your source??

who is talking about 14th century?

Was Luis born in the 14th century

OP said loius was Africa's 1st millionaire which is false and in any event if you can't compare Loius to Mansa Musa because they are from different eras, why is it valid to compare Dangote to Louis? Dangote was still in primary school when Louis died.

Google "Mansa Musa"

"The 14th century emperor from West Africa was worth a staggering $400 billion, after adjusting for inflation,"

You are right about Mansa Musa, but he lived in a different era from Sir Louis Ojukwu who was touted to be the richest West African during his life time.

Ojukwu senior was a rich man, no doubt about that but there were quite a number of stupendously rich rich Nigerians at the time. There is no evidence that he was or wasn't the richest Nigerian or African of it's just hearsay. Just as it was said Abiola was a billionaire but there is nothing to show he was a billionaire beyond tales by campfire. We Africans have a habit of overstating our wealth, most of the people we call billionaires are only Naira billionaires. I dont think you people understand what it means to be a billionaire. There are people who are not worth $40m who are riding around in leased private jets.

In any event all these people are dead, we should focus our energies on making our own if that's your goal in life.

Before I go though, if Ojukwu senior was really worth all that much then, what happenned to it all. How does a business man amass a fortune worth $40b in today's money and you don't have $1b in your estate today one generation after your passing? If you were a govt contractor I can understand because these people didnt make their money by building anything but not a business man like Ojukwu. It tells me he probably never had that kind of money to begin with or maybe just a case of a blind country and a one eyed king.
