Bitter Leaf is a bitter plant used as vegetable and herbs in Africa. It grows in almost all compounds in Nigeria. This bitter leaf plant is popular among the old who like its bitterness. In the Igbo area of Nigeria, bitter leaf is used to prepare varieties of soups, ranging from bitter leaf soup to egusi soup to ogbono soup. Although this leaf is bitter, it somehow gives flavor to the soup, it also sweetens it.
This bitter leaf is one of that gift of nature which can be used to make human live better and healthier. Like I had earlier indicated, bitter leaf is also used as herb. This bitter leaf cures many illnesses including skin diseases and it also helps repair ailing inner body organs. Bitter leaf is good for the body when taken as vegetable and when used as herb. Bitter leaf helps tone the vital organs of the body, especially the liver and kidney. These two organs are very important; they cause serious trouble when they begin to fail. Bitter leaf helps tone it thereby making man look healthy.
The bitter leaf plant contains vernodalin, venomydin and saponin. And remember bitter leaf should be taken freshnto avoid lost of nutrients. Some of the illnesses which can be cured by bitter leaf are:
1. Stomach Ache: It cures stomach ache. Chew the tender stem of the plant like a chewing stick and swallow the bitterness. This is a known remedy for stomach ache.
2. Skin Infections: Apply the liquid extracted from the leaf to the affected areas.
3. Loss of Memory: Take one glass of the diluted extracts from the plant thrice daily for two months.
4. Prostrate Cancer: Squeeze the fresh leaves in water and take a glass four times daily.
5. Fatigue: Squeeze the leaves in water and take three glasses thrice daily.
6. Insomnia: Take two glasses of bitter leaf solution every night.
7. Pneumonia: Squeeze the fresh leaves of the plant in water. Take a glass-full thrice daily. Warm the bitter leaf solution each time before drinking. Remember do not boil, just warm.
8. Stroke: Bitter leaf solution calms the nerves, strengthens the muscles and cleans the system.
These and more are the works and miracle that bitter leaf plant can perform. Why do you put all your trust on modern medicines? Nature can also cure, and in a fast way.
