The problem I believe could have happened is what are the size of the solar panels they can be eight but they are in sizes, we've 80watts panels as well as 300watts panels if you have 8 of 80watts that's 640watts and if uve 8 of 300watts that's 2400 watts and for 4 batteries you need minimum of 1800watts panels of battery to charge the battery effectively You can whatsapp me for more information tho on 08068783141 |

We had a good time with the 1.5kva and 2 batteries without panels for 4yrs and decided to step up to 3.5kva last December to accommodate the refrigerator but it has just been falling our hand since this week. bigrovar: My budget is 100k. I need an inverter and battery that can power just my 60watt home theatre, 43 inches TV (don't know the wattage) standing fan, laptop and two energy saving bulbs (I live in a self contained apartment) I go to work in the morning and come back by 6pm While Nepa brings light by 8pm and it lasts all through the night. So, usage will just be minimal, 2 hours, Monday to Saturday except on Sundays when I'll need to use it for 6 hours or thereabout. Or when babe comes visiting  So, from your professional view, can I get a good one with the budget I have? |

Benbisco: Sorry about the negative development. Please, were you able to solve this and how. We seem to have the same spec and I am observing that 2am shut down and waiting for daylight. How did you solve it? |

Ginomel: We had to switch back to the 1.5kva. The technician said the 3.5kva was faulty. |

Benbisco: You mean it sustains till morning before solar takes over and the problem solved. The technician didn't mention anything about the refrigerator causing it? I have what you mentioned ,(capacity of (8panels of 280w,four 200 ah batteries ,2.5kva inverter etc ) but can't sustain till morning lately. |

Ginomel: He did not mention the refrigerator. It wasn't the problem; though we monitor it and only use the refrigerator based on the weather ie, intensity of the sun. We use the inverter till 7pm then put on the generator to supply power till 12am. The technician advised we never charge it with the generator as it damages the batteries. He was able to do some electrical works such that we can switch it off completely when the generator is on. |

Benbisco: Thanks for the feedback. Hmmm, you mean you guys are courageous enough to be using generator after spending such a huge amount of money for an installation of that level (Of course I know the amount I spend to install 8 solar panels, 4 200ah batteries, 60 A controller and 2.5kva inverter. I can't ooo, instead I will continue to manage it like that till I could get new batteries. |

Ginomel:  How we go do na! We are just trying to extend the lives of the batteries. We run the generator whenever there is no power at night to make the batteries last. |

Hmm... even me I shock o, I use a hybrid inverter that powers my fridge, fans heavy duty laptops for architecture and a water pump submerged and I don't use up to 5kva so I am shocked someone is recommending 10kva. Na wa o! ideology: |

20 panels is alot reduce that with higher capacity panels and a good hybrid inverter. A 380w or 500w panel will reduce the quantity u will mount. I mounted 4 380w panels and a hybrid inverter with lition-ion batteries and I have not used PHCN since March 2022 when they cut my light till date. ValarDoharis: 1 Like |

I started my solar project gradually and in phases. I secureda 3kva hybrid then later panels 380w before getting lition-ion batteries 24v 200ah. Batteries were last to store power for the night but in the day I use the solar direct. Buying at once is good if the bulk money is present otherwise do it in batches expecially when u know what u want it for. DMerciful: 3 Likes |
