Many French Lawmakers to Vote Against Anti-Russia Sanctions - Official
Relations between Russia and the West deteriorated amid the 2014 crisis in Ukraine. The European Union, the United States and their allies have introduced several rounds of anti-Russian sanctions since the reunification of Crimea with Russia in 2014, accusing Moscow of meddling in the Ukrainian conflict, a claim Russian authorities have repeatedly denied.
Washington and Brussels imposed sanctions against Russian individuals and the Russian defense, energy and banking sectors in July 2014. Russia responded by introducing a year-long food embargo on imports from the United States, the European Union and other countries that targeted Russia, subsequently extending the current embargo until August 5, 2016.
The EU leaders summit is scheduled for June 28-29. Extending the EU economic sanctions against Russia, which are due to expire in July, is likely to be on the summit's agenda.

Greece to Act Against Anti-Russian Sanctions But Not Use Veto

A number of EU states, including Greece, will support the removal of the anti-Russian sanctions at a June EU summit, although Athens will not use its veto power if a decision to prolong the sanctions is taken, opting instead to act in a different way, a diplomatic source in Athens told RIA Novosti.

ATHENS (Sputnik) — According to the source, Italy, France, Germany and Austria support the removal of the sanctions against Russia and believe it is worth doing so now and not waiting for the results of the presidential elections in the United States.
"There will be no veto. Greece will try to act in a different way… We will look at the atmosphere and spirit of the summit and how other countries act and Greece will proceed from these things," the source said, commenting on a scenario where the European Union decides to prolong the anti-Russia sanctions.
According to the source, many countries in the European Union have connected the removal of sanctions with the implementation of the Minsk Agreements, however, this mood is changing and member states have started to realize that it is Kiev who should implement the deal.
"Kiev has been put under pressure regarding this issue and, in our opinion, it must be increased," the diplomat added.
Relations between Russia and the West declined with the early 2014 Crimean referendum to join Russia and the Ukrainian military offensive against pro-independence militia in the eastern region of Donbas.
Washington and Brussels imposed sanctions against Russian individuals and the Russian defense, energy and banking sectors in July 2014. The sensational thread refuse to mention that there are 577 members in the french lower house. if 101 participated in the vote (less that one fifth) Who cares?

France’s lower house of parliament adopted a resolution Thursday calling for the European Union to lift its economic sanctions against Russia, though less than a fifth of the chamber participated in the vote.

Of the National Assembly’s 577 MPs, 101 voted. Fifty-five voted in favor and 44 were against the resolution, which argued that EU sanctions against Russia should not be renewed when they expire on July 31.

So in short, 522 MPs are not in favor. lipsrsealed

There's no doubt that Amerika is trying to destabilize the EU - where economic sanctions intended to damage Russia was also designed to damage the economies of Europe.

We all know Amerika's foreign policy is deliberately aimed at weakening both her allies & her enemies.

The French Senate has unanimously adopted a resolution on the easing of anti-Russian sanctions.

During the vote, 302 French senators voted in favor of the resolution, while 16 voted against the initiative.

The resolution proposed by the opposition calls on the French government to protest extension of EU sanctions against Moscow. Although the resolution is not legally binding, the document will be sent to the French government for consideration.

Earlier, the French National Assembly, the lower house of the parliament, voted in favor of the resolution calling for lifting of anti-Russian sanctions.

The underlying fact here is that, Europe is increasingly becoming split between more hawkish and more
dovish countries regarding Russia. Sanctions hawks
including the UK, Nordic and Baltic countries want to
rollover curbs on the Russian energy, finance and
defence sectors that expire in July. At the same time, business communities in Germany, Italy, Greece and other countries in the European Union have publicly protested against the continuing sanctions. From Hungarian Viktor Orban, down to the very heart of some of the big boys themselves. They are begining to realise that thry have taken a very foolish and destabilizing pact against their own economy, for which the only victor is the US. Hence, many of them are now becoming more vocal and changing tacts on the sanctions.

Italian Prime Minister Renzi has made clear Italy’s
disagreement with the sanctions policy. Back in
December Italy managed to hold up the renewal of the
sanctions by a few days – a striking fact in itself. When
the EU Commission renewed the punitive measures for
6 months citing alleged unanimous agreement by EU
member states at ambassador level – Renzi reacted by
sacking Italy’s ambassador to the EU for failing to stand
up for Italy’s interests. Then the Italian Prime Minister
openly opposed North Stream 2 in an apparent attempt
to draw attention to the Germany’s hypocrisy in insisting other EU states maintain sanctions on Russia whilst forging closer economic links with Russia itself.
As a result, the relations between Merkel and Renzi have
hit rock bottom.

In France the government is coming under increasing
pressure from France’s powerful farm lobby. The Russian counter-sanctions have hit the producers of these products especially hard. French President Francois Hollande has recently called for sanctions on Russia to be lifted.

The introduction of EU sanctions against Russia and
countermeasures by Moscow may cost the French
economy several billion euros and about 160,000 jobs.
The Russian import ban has also contributed to the over-supply of milk and dairy products across the whole EU, with prices plunging to levels that are putting the entire European milk and dairy industry under severe strain. The result has been demonstrations by dairy farmers in France, Belgium and even normally quiet Britain. Denmark is calling for the sanctions to be lifted.

Danish Foreign Minister Kristian Jensen has said that it
was Ukraine not Russia which is not implementing Minsk II, and that sanctions on Russia will be lifted unless it does so.

Stefano Maullu, member of the European Parliament
from Italy, Group of the European People’s Party member, said that the EU and US policy against Russia did not bring any positive results. «The US and part of the EU member states expected to influence Russia’s internal political decisions by imposing the sanctions, but they failed. Moscow reacted by imposing their economic counter-measures and the situation stalled», the politician reminded. The European Union lost, at least for a certain time, one among its most relevant partners, he said.

All in all, the EU suffered 90 billion euro losses in 2014-2015. Russian Deputy Economic Development
Minister Alexey Likhachev has said that the anti-Russian
sanctions and counter measures cost the European Union up to 40 billion euro in 2014 and another 50 billion euro in 2015 as a result of Russia sanctions over the crisis in Ukraine.

Its now very clear and undisputable opposition to sanctions
is mounting across Europe. The opposition will achieve a critical mass pretty soon to make the punitive measures unsustainable. With all the pressure the US exerts, there are limits to what it can do in Europe.

With all the facts mentioned above, it is becoming clear that the issue of sanctions is a glaring example of exacerbating differences between the US and the EU as their interests and goals diverges.

Those are the facts.

You hit the nail on the head as usual and what amazes me is these Eurocrats are all puppets. Watch the Neocons prop up another MH17 scary false-flag again, with pressure and see them all running and doing what vassals/puppets do the most.

Have you been following what is going on in France. It may be too early to judge but forget it, this is a colour revolution like and the target is Holande for refusing to act as Washington says particularly in Syria. France was suppose to carry out its bin laden scenario but went to Syria and bowed for Putin cos Putin was not going to stop.

Paris attacks were suppose to be its 9/11 but France bowed and washington got the message pretty clear. The message or body language being, we re not ready or going to confront Russia. because of Syria.

What's going on in France is Washington's reply as usual which controls all the non government organizations. Soros long time said this will happen to Europe since they have stop being a full puppet. Seems some of them are waking up to reality like you explained above.

Yeah! The events in France are something one shouldn't take for granted, but all the same, Hollande got it coming. When you lie with the Devil, be ready to be push down the bed, cos he is one who always want to have its way. The likes of Hollande who willingly chose to be puppet and took up side with American satanic foreign policy interest, as against European interest, despite knowing that the Ukrainian brouhaha wasn't provoked by Russia, is always likely to fail at some point, and for all i care, they can crash down to earth. If a powerhouse like France couldn't exert the exclusivity of its sovereignty in the wake of the Mistral ships debacle, then Politicians like Hollande have no business being in government Chambers, and he certainly deserved no pity, even though he wasn't quite a complete puppet.

But one thing is certain already: alot of people across the EU are waking up to reality, and in return, the various government is getting the pressure. You can fool all of the people some of the time, and you can also fool some of the people all of the time; but you can never fool all of the people all of the time.

European puppeteering and the cloak of American diabolic foreign policy enslavement, are being lifted and unveiled for what it is. The people can never be foolish all through. Thats why the human nature is always dynamic.

Finland would rather be friends with Russia than members of NATO -- President Sauli Niinistö

Vladimir Putin, president of Russian Federation with Sauli Niinistö, president of Finland
Sputnik France, May 1, 2016

Translated from French by Tom Winter, June 7, 2016

After the warning from Moscow that Russia will respond with military and technical measures at its northern borders if Sweden decides to join the Atlantic Alliance, Finland, for its part, rejected the idea of joining NATO.

Commenting on a report by an international group of experts on the possible integration of Finland to NATO, President Sauli Niinistö was against any membership, reports Finnish media YLE . "We do not need to change the current policy," said M. Niinisto in an interview with YLE media.

Nevertheless, as every country has the right to decide for itself according to its national interests what form of security is best for the state, the president said it was probably just to ask the people, by means of a referendum.

Sauli Niinistö also said that Helsinki and Stockholm were to make that decision separately. "We have no automatic reciprocal link on this where, if one country decides to join the Alliance, the other must immediately do the same (...) Each country is responsible for its. decision on NATO," said President Niinisto.

Sauli Niinistö made this statement after the recent warning from the the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that Russia would take adequate measures if Finland's neighbor, Sweden, joined the Alliance. **

Although the Russian minister has said that Russia does not think the Swedes will attack once they have decided to join NATO, Finland has chosen not to poison its relations with its neighbor and partner."They (Russia) do not want the threat approaching their borders," said the President of Finland, who had already mentioned that Russia was a key partner for Finland. This was in his New Years speech, when Sauli Niinistö said that Russian-Finnish relations were among the priorities for his country's foreign policy.

@Nairaminted. Not everybody is buying that idea anymore. No matter how they would try to cajole Finland to join the alliance, it won't work out. The reason is; NATO and America's warlike atangonism of toward Russia, is becoming more and more apparent to even the most novice of foreign political followers. Their tool of color coded revolution is becoming archaic and easily noticeable this days.

Nothing is at it seems anymore.

French deputy: Crimean Tatars are better off in Crimea than Russians in the Baltics

August 2, 2016

Topwar.ru

The net continues to buzz about yesterday's press conference of the members of the French parliament visiting Crimea. In the beginning of the press conference, the head of French delegation Thierry Mariani said that it is imperative to inform the Western community that the life of Crimeans is not those horror stories, painted by numerous European and American publications, and that the vast majority of Crimeans are happy, having made a choice in favor of Russia.

When talking about the situation of Crimean Tatars in Crimea, which the Western press, referring to some anti-Russian ideologues, calls "disappointing," a member of the French delegation said the following:

The situation of Crimean Tatars in Crimea is much better than, for example, the situation of Russians in the Baltic States.

At the same time Thierry Mariani noted that the Baltic countries are part of the European Union, where human rights should be a priority.

The most memorable part of the press conference was an exchange between the French deputy with the notorious Ukrainian journalist Tsimbalyuk from UNIAN agency, who asked the following:

How much have you been paid by the Russian government to visit Crimea?

To which Thierry Mariani replied (quoted by RT):

I'm ready to hear comments about the political situation, but I'm not asking you how much you are paid to ask such sh*tty questions. So I'm not going to answer you and I can only express my contempt.

Mariani added that the fact that Ukrainian journalist can ask such questions in Russia speaks that Russia is a free country.

What's behind the French delegation visit to Crimea?
August 1, 2016 -
By Eduard Popov for Fort Russ
Translated by J. Arnoldski

The visit by a 10-person delegation from the National Assembly and Senate of France to Crimea concluded today. A farewell press conference was held with the delegation members. The head of the delegation, Thierry Mariani, issued a loud statement: the international community should recognize Crimea as part of Russia.

The Russian press has busied itself with discussing an instance from today's press conference, namely, when a Ukrainian journalist posed a “repulsive” question to the delegation’s head, Thierry Mariani [1]. But of much more interest to us is the visit's hidden motivation.

As informed media reports have pointed out, 8 of the 10 members of the delegation that arrived in Crimea represent the Republican Party headed by former president Nicolas Sarkozy. Sarkozy, as we recall, has recently made a number of positive statements about Russia. He recently met with President Vladimir Putin and called upon Russia to lift the counter-sanctions imposed on French agricultural products. In doing so, Sarkozy prepared the ground for the Crimean visit by his party fellows. What’s more, for several of them such as Mariani, this is not their first visit to Crimea since its reunification with Russia.

Russian Crimea is becoming a factor in the internal politics of Western countries, and not only in Europe. We’ve already written about the series of resolutions passed in Northern Italy’s regional councils and in the Parliament of Cyprus supporting the Russian status of Crimea. Literally yesterday, US presidential candidate Donald Trump also called Crimea’s reunification with Russia a realization of the will of Crimeans. Of course, the Crimean issue is not the most important ant not even a secondary issue in the electoral campaign in the US, but it is nonetheless becoming all the more visible as it affects the main nerve of Western foreign policy: relations with Russia.

In Europe and the West as a whole, the tone is set by those who cling to geopolitical archaism positing the “Ukrainian status” of Crimea. French Foreign Minister and socialist Laurent Fabius even said that he was “shocked” by the very idea of a French delegation being sent to Crimea. But it is hardly likely that Mr. Fabius actually experienced real shock over this visit. After all, the French political field’s competitors are preparing for presidential elections in the country set to be held in 2017. Although the thematic platforms of candidates and parties are still being worked out, the Crimean question is already been written in. To radically varying degrees, Nicolas Sarkozy and Marine Le Pen are in favor of lifting the sanctions imposed against Russia caused by the issue of Crimea. Francois Hollande, meanwhile, clings to the opposite position.

French parliamentarians have been moved by the raw balance of affairs and concern over the interests of France and French manufactures who are suffering from the anti-Russian sanctions and Russia’s responsive sanctions. But blaming them would only be the proper case if they didn’t actually care. For example, the court in the EU which has suffered the greatest extent from ceasing to export its products to Russia is Germany, whose Chancellor Angela Merkel remains one of the main supporters of the EU’s anti-Russian policies. She can be blamed much more than French deputies. This anti-Russian position, however, is nowhere near as radical as can be found in the countries of Eastern Europe but, then again, the political and economic weight of Germany is incomparable to the value of the countries of “new Europe.” Opposition to Angela Merkel’s policies is very strong among German business circles. But it is still difficult to imagine any kind of visit by Bundestag deputies to Russian Crimea. But for this there is quite an obvious explanation which we won’t touch on for now.

The upcoming presidential elections in France, the architect of “united Europe” alongside Germany, and the electoral campaigns in swing in a number of other European countries are, if I may say so, lending the Crimean issue an official status in the domestic politics of these countries. Voters will associate recognizing Crimea as part of Russia with the abolition of the onerous sanctions and improving relations with Russia. The European boat of anti-Russian sanctions is rocking against waves all the harsher. And a storm is coming in the form of a series of elections (presidential and parliamentary) in several countries at once. French politicians are too pragmatic and adverse to risk to single-handedly challenge the complicated system of American control over Europe. Therefore, the French parliamentary delegation’s visit to Crimea is not only a French, but a European preparation of public opinion for reconsidering the EU’s positions not only on Crimea, but Russia as a whole. “Recognize Russian Crime and lift sanctions” is a slogan that will be written on electoral banners by several political forces in Europe at once.

[1] Life News reports that during the press conference, a Ukrainian journalist asked Mariani: "How much did they pay you French for the trip to Crimea?" Mariani replied that he would not accept such a question but acknowledged that the fact that such a "repulsive" question could be posed by a journalist in Russia "is evidence that Russia is a free country." Mariani told the journalist that he would hardly get away with asking such questions in his own country.
