Kachikwu admits to being an Igbo (many Nigerians, especially Yorubas, wish that Delta Igbos would not affirm being Igbos)

But then he dents his ''Igbo-ness'' by claiming ''more Lagosian''.

Must these claims be mutually exclusive? Can you not simply be an Igbo man who lives or have lived in Lagos?

This is as tweeted by Tolu Ogunlesi, a Yoruba. There is no independent verification if Kachikwu actually said that and in what context.

What's the need for such press briefing? Such interviews aimed at strengthening tribal division at the expense of unity of purpose should not be encouraged.

He's basically saying "I am more Yoruba than Igbo".

Olorun maje! We don't want. You see many of them on NL claiming Yoruba too. What a shame to point at your father's house with your left hand. We will decline his visa.

He did not claim Yoruba. There is a big chasm between ''Yoruba'' and ''Lagosian''

They're already claiming that Yoruba words like 'Omo', 'Yeye' , 'kuku' and 'wahala' are Igbo words.

Exactly. When they have finished dealing with him in Lagos politics, he will run back to Delta State, starting with his Igbo part of Delta.

You think. When it comes time to start applying for Visa, you'll know which language Lagos street names belong to. Fulani will soon start claiming no man's land in Enugu.

I have no problem with Lagos being a Yorubaland. But the term ''Lagosian' is not = to ''Yoruba''. I was born in Lagos myself. I consider myself a Lagosian but never a Yoruba. NEVER.

You see Donjazzy rocking Yoruba attire, Igbo boys flexing in Yoruba and Northerner's attires. You see some of them even naming their pikins Aonions instead of Okechukwu, being proud that English Nollywood is ish when Yoruba nollywood is still better. Check everything on your TV screen, everywhere you go, Yoruba culture is emphasized in every Lagos thread. You know that Yoruba is now mandatory for all Lagos schools right? You may consider yourself Igbo, but you're living as a Yoruba man in Lagos.

Itunmo? Whether you like like it or not, Lagos will always be a Yoruba territory, that is not in doubt, but she'll also welcome non-Yorubas. Even if na to naturalize them, it in Nigeria or an independent Yoruba country.

Enugu was a former colony. The whole Nigeria was a former colony. Your point? Don't kick when Fulanis call you no man's land. Even the colony won't save you when it's time to apply for your visa.

Get off your high horse boy. Kachkwu calling himself a Lagosian is no different than a Chinese doing the same to my mind, as long as they respect their hosts and are law-abiding it is all well and good.

You sound confused.
Why won't you rock Yoruba attire? Who hasn't? Who wouldn't?
