Yar'adua Off Again To Saudi Hospital by BlackRevo: 5:18am On Aug 11, 2009
Nigeria’s sickly leader, Umaru Yar’adua, will be going to Saudi Arabia for medical care, according to a statement by his spokesperson.

The surprise public announcement of Yar’adua’s treatment follows a series of foreign medical trips that were concealed from the public – and exclusively exposed by Saharareporters. Last month, we reported that Yar'adua secretly visited a hospital in Rome while attending the G8 meeting. That revelation of Yar’adua’s hidden medical sojourn led him to return home.

Yar’adua’s health woes resurfaced during his recent state visit to Brazil where he collapsed and needed resuscitation, according to information from a Brazilian source and corroborated by an aide traveling with him.

Also, sources to Yar’adua told Saharareporters that, during a recent visit to Egypt, Yar'adua met with doctors flown in from Germany. He spent four days in the care of the German doctors in Egypt, returning home in time to co-chair a fraudulent cancer fundraiser by his wife, Turai, which raked in N10 billion.

Yar'adua is expected to stay in Saudi Arabia for one or two weeks, according to medical sources knowledgeable about his medical condition.

Yar'adua had managed to keep up an appearance of a healthy individual by visiting party carpetbaggers and attending public events that have taken a serious toll on his fragile health. Our sources said Yar'adua's health has continued to deteriorate despite his public attempts to project a portrait of robust health. “His showy appearances were made possible by the use of anabolic steroids,” disclosed one of our sources.

The illegitimate president suffers from Churg Strauss disease. The disease has caused a progressive decline in his organ functions, especially his kidneys.

Yar'adua is scheduled to leave Nigeria as soon visiting US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ends her visit.

It is unclear if Yar'adua would undergo a long overdue kidney transplant during this trip.

In a separate development, Saharareporters has learnt that Yar'adua was considering making some cosmetic changes to his cabinet after he returns from the medical treatment. His kitchen cabinet members have reportedly designed a scheme to “create the illusion of action to fool the Nigerian public.” Our sources said the idea was to boost Yar’adua’s image by removing one or two controversial ministers.

and the paradox:

as he goes to Saudi for treatment same Saudi Government are going to behead a Nigeria!

Can you imagine British or US President visiting a country that is about to officially behead the same citizen he suppose to protect??

Amnesty International has expressed serious concern about the recent execution of foreign nationals, including a Nigerian, Qorbi bin Mussa Adam, over an allegation of murdering a Saudi national.
He was the second Nigerian to be executed in Saudi Arabia this year after another Nigerian, Jamil 'Abbas Shu'ayb, was beheaded in May. In both cases, the Saudi Arabian authorities have disclosed very little information about their trials but Amnesty International said that these are likely to have been held in secret as in the case of Suliman Olufemi, another Nigerian who remains at imminent risk of execution in Saudi Arabia. He was sentenced to death in 2004.

What a better welcome present to give to Yar Adua, they might even show the execution live on TV so that Yar Adua could watch it to drive home the point.

This gives a brief description of the condition Yar' adua is battling with.

Churg-Strauss Syndrome:

This is a rare disease affecting coronary (heart), pulmonary (lungs), cerebral (brain), abdominal visceral and skin circulations.

It affects small and medium sized arteries and veins ( blood vessels) and is associated with asthma.

Aetiology ( cause ) is unknown.

Presentation:
Allergic rhinitis ( hay fever ), asthma, sinusitis, heart failure, myocarditis, myocardial infarction., SKIN PURPURA, urticaria ( itching ), digital ischaemia ( pale fingers and toes ), KIDNEY DISEASE ( glomerulonephritis ),hypertention, ADVANCED KIDNEY FAILURE, peripheral neurophathy, gastric vasculitis and bleeding, appendicitis,
WEIGHT LOSS, FATIGUE, FEVER, MALAISE, MUSCLE PAIN, JOINT PAIN.

Management:
High dose steroids, cyclophosphamide, IV immunoglobulins , interferon alpha, blood transfusion ( plasma exchange).

Complications:
Principal causes of death are myocarditis and myocardial infaction secondary to coronary arteritis.

Prognosis:
Good overall but severe asthma usually persists.  Organ involvement e.g Kidneys suggests a poorer prognosis and can be fatal. With treatment 1- year survival rate is 90% and 5-year survival rate is 62%.

There you have it.

He should just resign and focus on HIS HEALTH as his only one point agenda that he can realitistically deal with because it is self preservation.

1 point agenda= YAR A'DULL HEALTH
Re: Yar'adua Off Again To Saudi Hospital by kuramo: 12:50pm On Aug 11, 2009
Yar' adua's condition can be serious.   Churg-Strauss Syndrome even with treatment has a 1-year  survival  rate of 90% and a 5-year survival rate of 62%.

In terms of prognosis,  Organ involvement like the Kidneys suggest a poorer prognosis and can be fatal. The principal causes of mortality are myocarditis and myocardial infaction ( Stroke ).  There you have it.

I am trying to ignore the thought that there might be some General or Colonel Oloriburuku from the North preparing to read the infamous "fellow Nigerian" speech while this guy languishes on his sickbed in Saudi Arabia.

Turai will check with the marabouts before they leave I'm almost sure. If Yaradua dies it will be very hard for the North to sidestep Jonathan -given the current political climate in the country.

A preemptive coup is the only way the North can stay in power -Yaradua's death is a grave risk the North wouldn't want to take.

Orobiyi,
You must be a fool to think it was God that put YarAdua as president of Nigeria. If your assertion that it "God is the only person that pits a leader on the throne" and as such God is the person (if at all God is human) then that God you mentioned must be wicked to Nigerians. It is only in Nigeria that people like you attribute all things evil to God. people in developed countries don't attribute their success or failure to God rather to the hard work of its leaders. This rhytorics of GOd, God, God in Nigeria must stop if we must move forward as a nation. Or else we will forever remain backward. Am not sure it was God that instal the Iboris, the Sarakis, the Igbinedion, the Kalus, the Odillis, the Alamasiaghas, the Goodlucks, etc on Nigeria.

But, seriously, who, especially a head of state, would choose to seek medical treatment for a chronic and potentially fatal disease in a country like Saudi Arabia? When medically advanced countries like the USA and England would have been a more logical, if not safer, choice. My guess is that nothing was gained from the case of Stella Obasanjo, who one some reason or the other, chose to have cosmetic/elective surgery in SPAIN (of all places)?!?!?! Sahara reporters should stop making a mockery of Yaradua's sickness. It is not by his making that he is sick. I like objective journalism and criticism but not a situation whereby people are wishing others death or celebrating their predicament. Some are even planning his burial here while others are busy choosing his successors while he is still alive. We should wish others what we wish ourselves. I must state clearly that I'm not a Yaradua's fan & I have criticised his policies in many internet fora without making a mockery of his health. I thought Yaradua would ve died by now given the negative publicity his health generated a couple of months ago. We should all wish him a quick recovery while we criticise his policies.

It is amazing that despite Yar'dua's deteriorated health, he's still rulling this poor country. NO His ways are beyond human reasoning as He acts in mysterious ways. We are nothing to judge anyone irrespective of our personal reasoning. Let God and Him alone take charge. There seems to be much we can do to the present situation rather leave God to take charge and on our parts our prayers and reasonable opinions be presented in the most sensible way possible without name calling and the likes. Can you imagine what representation we are giving of ourselves by our ways of response to issues?
Name calling is not the way out or best way of making our reasoning known. PLEASE STOP NAME CALLING!!!

That the President muss not die

hmmmmmmmm! See, Obasanjo has turned God in Nigeria? Wonders indeed. I knew right from time that though Obasanjo is not a saint, his major mistake was visiting Nigeria and Nigerians with this "monumental failure", see the chicken and see the time flies so fast while the breeze blown it open. God will continue to redeem Nigeria against poor mental articulation as this may easily lead to secessional protest. Some are already flaunting their fake 'sectional international passports' in "our beloved country, Nigeria". That is bad. What about Nigeria E-Passport aka National Identity? Nigerians should be careful before we are led into another million deaths.
By and large, President Umaru Yara Adua should be advised to hand over to his Veepee so as to enable him take proper care of his health. Vice President GODLUCKY deserves it anyways. Such gift though not a braggadocio is rare and it cant be just for sight seeing.

Should Yar´adua sack AGF Mike Aondokaa, Maurice Iwu of INEC tsar, Farida Waziri of EFCC´s headship, that´d be a big plus to him: although the laziness and lack of action and direction is Yar´adua´s fault - of which it´s Yar´adua who should change his ways towards the positive and not his underlings. The backward situation in Nigeria is all Yar´adua´s for the taking. The buck stops with him.

In America, they say 'get rich or die trying.' With Yar´adua, it´s: (get and keep political power or die trying.) He should resign going home to care for himself. We´d not want the Abacha situation of dying in power this time, self-made.

Thanks to SR for all the revelations, we all know that Yar'Adua is very sick, indeed he his sick physically, mentally, socially, psychologically and even emotionally - I heard he could not even "perform" anymore that Turai has been forced to "self help". I also heard some cabinet ministers are not even comfortable sitting next to Yar'Adua, whereas they could not resign because of their political and economic survivor.

I'm sure Yar'Adua must have spent more money on his personal health than the national health budget in 2 years, what a liability and no one in the shameless national assembly has officially raised the issue. I believe, and strongly too that Yar'adua has become "incapacitated" and by the effect of s.144 of the 1999 constitution, Yar'Adua should be impeached if he wouldn't want to resign honourably.

Having said the above anyway, I still wish that the almighty God will help to remove this protracted ailment and grant him good health because every human deserves good health.

I think it's absolutely stupid for people to say it was God who made Yaradua the president. Are we now saying it was God who sanctioned, approved and supported the rigging, looting, maiming, killing, stealing and destruction that characterised Yaradua's elections? Why are we so short-sighted? This is one of the reasons why we are backward as a nation because some us sit back and are expecting God to come down from heaven to solve our problems. We keep claiming God allows this, God allows that.

From his picture above, this man looks like a ghost. He doesnt look like human again, I pray God give you speedy recovery but remember in case God does not grant the prayer, pray for forgiveness of those you have destroyed both in Niger Delta and the Boko Haram people and those that were slaughtered to rig you into power. Those you have been responsible for their deaths are crying wherever they are now. Those who died of hunger, those who died of accident because of your bad leadership, those who could not afford a kobo for common local hospital bill while you keep wasting billions to go abroad for the so-called check-up. Those university graduate who died of frustrations because they could not get jobs, those labouring mothers who died during child births and many more! Remember the nick name of this man in my father's village, Allah dey!

I have said it before and will still say it again. The blood of the innocents in Niger Delta and the Boko Haram may be crying against this man. So, if God wish, he survives and if the wishes of the innocent blood prevail, then, But all the same, if he returns alive, he should resign and father his children for the remaining years God allows him to live.

i see no reason why any onee should blame nigeria's present status on the fact that obasanjo forced the gift of yar adua as president on us.obj was a man with prospect for this country.he humbly asked for third term and we turned him down unanimously, this was a man that was willing to take this country to the next level.look if yar adua will die,he has better make it snapy.because there are many nigerians out there that have the potential to take this country to the next level.hasnt it occured to anyone that nigeria is deterating by the week.we have everything we need, the money, land for agic, oil and human resource, but the greed of of our politicians is what is killing us.that is the only reason why i respect obj.he ate the money but he stil gave nigerians a whole lot to hold on to, we need to wake up from our slumber, from our dream and face reality.we need to re orientate the youths,we need to evacuate the theifs in our today's goverment, and let the sick go meet their ancestors.until the day we eradicate corruption in nigeria and make nigerians realize that only them can transform rheir country not some dieing president, until that day, there is NO HOPE for nigeria.

I wish the President safe trip and a sincere positive outcome on his medical trip to Saudi Arabia.
I think it is very unfair to wish the President dead, he is a human being and he is entitle to good health as you and myself. I will only advise that he should resign from the office of President immediately for 2 good reasons: One, to focus more on getting proper medical attention (no need to fear because this will be free of cost to him as a former President), and Two, for the benefit of the nation as a whole so that we can move forward without hinderances.
I hope the President will do this in the interest of his own life and the nation as a whole

But why can't Yar'Adua resign instead of holding over 150 million Nigerians into ransom. It would have better for him personally to resign and take care of himself and enjoy the rest of his life in quetness. Agreed, anybody can fall sick but his position in the country calls for pragmatism, dynamism and allertness 24 hours of the day.

He is not helping himself and neither Nigerians by his attitude of sit tight mentality when it is visible that he can't cope with the rigours of governance. That is the reason that we are not moving forward but backward. Nigeria at this moment needs a leader that can work for 16 - 20 hours a day and not the one that goes to bed at 8pm. Sorry to say this, but we must tell ourselves the bitter truth.

I will advise Yar'Adua to resign and face his health problems squarely.

It is indeed unfortuate that as Nigerians we are celebrating the illness of our president and wishing him dead. What a shame? The man deserves our pity and prayers and not otherwise. It is only Allah that gives and take life,no amount of wishful thinking on the part of man can terminate the life of our president.I as a good muslim pray that Allah would in His infinite merccy grant him a very successful medical trip to and from Saudi Arabia and he shall return in peace and good health and as viciously wished by those who sees nothing good in any leadership since the founding of mordern Nigeria.Let me use this opportunity to advise to search themselves and remove the speck in their eyes before criticising others, we are all guilty of bad leadership and as such should sinle out the president for crucification as a tree does not make a forest.May God be with our amiable ,God fearing and humble president. We shall celebrate him at the end of his tenor.

Let the lure and pecks of office continue to becloud his sense of judgement at the risk of his failing health. Afterall, is it not said that the dog destined to perdition does not listen to the owner's whistle? God didn't give Nigerians Umoru! @Zomby, so his life does not have a price tag but the lives of the many more Nigerians out there who are less priviledged and suffering from the same illness or even worse are?

COME ON!! PEOPLE!!! This is a man who was governor for 8 SOLID years during which he suffered, flew himself out for treatment, yet did not see fit to at least work to provide comparable quality of healthcare for those in his state who may be dealing with the same hell. After all that we dropped the whole country in his lap and his conscience is still DEAD !!! aaaaarrrggghh!!!

I do not think it makes any sense to continue to kick a dead horse.
I agree that Yaradua should have at least taken advantage of his sickness to do something to improve our medical system in Nigeria.
But do you really think it's up to him alone?

Let us all pray and wish our president the best. It is simply the right thing anyone could do for his or her nation.
