Hello Nairalanders, I have dis guy I often see and *hail* in my area. One day I saw him and noticed a d black part of d eyball was bcomin white and asked him what d problem was. He cldn't explain, says he's treatin it, but it scares him cos his vision is goin faint.


After like a month, I saw him dis night, he was really depressed. He said he has been to different hospitals here in warri, but dey cldn't help. The last specialist hospital he visited, dey sed dey can't carry an operation .....

He was almost cryin sef.... he sed he's facin traditional, dat he's even lookin for 4k to pay.
I felt for d guy, if I had d ability, I wud hav assisted.

I realised nairaland, cud be of help.
Doctors in d haus, what is d cos and name of the problem and what is d solution. I dnt mind selling off some personal things to assist him though

i am no doctor but am sure its cataract... cos my elder brow had same experience once... a surgery had to be carried out to scratch it off and he was placed on medication.... if i were ur guy, try rally around for hin, he shud come over to abuha and visit national hospital. By Gods grace he would see properly once more

his a federal govt civil servant,, so his HMO took care of the bill

WARNING: Tell him not to instill any traditional poison into his eyes because that might cause inflammation and possibly infection that will cause more damage to the troubled eye.

Pls tell him to see an ophthalmologist if he is close to any teaching hospital or federal medical centre. It will not cost him much to get a disgnosis and initiate treatment as early as possible.

Don't rely on any medical diagnosis here because no one can give definite diagnosis in this case without physical assessment of the patient in question, so the best you can do for him is to advice him to see a specialist.

The eye is too precious to resign to faith in the name that I have been to several hospitals,whereas it might be a case of ignorance and poverty that is preventing him to seek the best care.Tell him to beg anybody in his reach for assistance now to avoid being a perpetual begger in future, he can as well make his case known to the church.

They no dey use eye matter play oohh i can attest to that

As some1 said earlier, do not and i repeat DO NOT allow him visit any chemist/pharmacy or trado-medicine palour for Any eye problem

It would end up getting worse

Only I can pray for you

Op Dats cataract on your friends eye

And he needs surgery

Discourage him about going traditional cos d will just tamper with his eyes


Only surgery can be used to cure that'

Sorry replying this late. just encourage your friend to see an eye doctor and please he should desist from using traditional medicines on his eyes so he doesn't cause more damage.
