Yes very true, the state government has a problem there too and that's a norm in all states in Nigeria.

but there are certain project that re far more dan state government. that's why we have states and federal projects. if u have gotten to chevron in a community called Ogidigben in delta state, they have absolutely nothing. just imagine a community where chevron is, no light or good water.

The whole production goes to the federal government who in turns sends state allocation. This allocation goes also to all states in Nigeria. Remember that the cost to make a road in the SS is like 3 times the amount in states like bauchi, sokoto and the rest. but go and look at the allocation and see the difference. why do u think they are fighting for resource control.
But you don't fight for resource control by destroying infrastructure, what are their senators and reps doing all these Years? The fight for resource control earlier gave them 13% derivation, why not fight for more through your representatives in the senate and reps? And what has been achieved in the region with the 13%?

So many questions begging for anwsers. Political diplomacy is the best way and not public anger or hatred against other regions. The Niger deltans need to be more tactful. Oil will not be forever just like cocoa or groundnut pyramids of yesteryears.

Well...truth be said, u have a point but since the politicians from here won't do anything about it, then I guess they need to help themselves out.

They kept shut because they actually saw GEJ as someone that will help bring more jobs and infrastructure to the region, unfortunately he didn't do much and majority of salaries paid to militants where actually paid to ghost militants who probably haf jobs already.

So I understand their anger. May God save us all.

Patriotism my azz!

Who want to be patriotic to a country full of injustice and unfairness?

A country where able bodied youths will spend years in school, come out and put one full year of service to the country and afterwards end up jobless with no hopes.

A country where a President Jonathan who was already putting the measures to empower the youths was branded all sorts and rigged out by those who believe that the leadership of Nigeria is their birthright.

A country where federal government jobs and scholarships are given to north while the SS/SE are left out.

A country where the President threw decorum to the winds and declared that he would marginalize the SS/SE region because they gave him only 5% vote.

Such a country isn't worth my patriotism.

I'd rather be patriotic to America than Nigeria.

Thank you.

Gej conference was to drum up support for his reelection, not many took that conference seriously, only gej sympattizers thinks the conference made any sense and for christ sake if gej was serious, he would have started the implementation before leaving office but alas he himself never took the conference serious. The conference by the way was not sovereign as gej said that the unity of Nigeria was not negotiable. Ipob members and niger delta miltants never contested this until gej was voted out when they suddenly remembered biafra.

You must be a terrorist. Are you happy now? Things are being destroyed and you are happy because you don't support the government. By the special grace of Almighty God, all enemies of this present government will be crushed.

The worst terrorists are those who came from over 800 km away from the Niger delta but forcefully acquired more than 90% of crude oil wells in the Niger delta, pollute the environment, return to the north to build cleaner cities with oil wealth, and leave people of the Niger delta with little or no oil wells and destroyed habitat.

The real terrorists are those who sprinkled 20 new federating units (19 states+ Abuja) in the once one northern Nigeria federating unit, and use the 20 units to suck home to the north most of the proceeds from oil from the Niger delta, and use the consequent political over-representation from these new states to dictate to the rest of Nigeria.

Mr You are extremely stup!d without mincing words, which marginalisation are you talking about? where in the Niger delta is the 13% approved for their development? why do we have the biggest looters (governors cadre) in the Niger delta?
Tompolo was paid $22m,Ateke $12m and Asari $9m monthly in the guise of an amnesty program, where was it invested in the Niger delta?
Asari's University is in Cotonou, does Niger delta stretch to cotonou or Niger delta does not deserve his university?
FG gave them 13%, Amnesty paid huge sums and you are stup!dly telling yourself this is about marginalization.
Make sure you grow a brain before making babies, imbeciles like you don't deserve freedom of speech.
Why should a sane person suggest Tompolo shouldn't be probed? who are you to suggest to the Govt who to probe and otherwise?
I tell you what, the so called Avengers are having a good time, after now, they will be settled, guess what, goats like you will queue for petrol for days, you will cry so badly that you have no idea what a drop in production means to the income of your mummy and daddy who failed to use a condom on the day you were conceived. what rubbish!!
I can see you are an Ijaw boy, that makes it easier, welcome to hell!!
Please go and tell ur useless President Buhari that the following demands must be met before any other thing:

1. Immediate implementation of the report of the 2014 National Conference. Otherwise, this country will break-up forcefully.
2. President Buhari, the DS SSS and Timipre Sylva should apologize to the people of the Niger Delta region and family of Late Chief DSP Alamieyesegha for killing him with intimidation and harassment because of his party affiliation.

3. The ownership of oil blocks must reflect 60% for the oil producing people and 40% for the non-oil producing people.
4. The only Nigerian Maritime University sited in the most appropriate and befitting place Okerenkoko must start the 2015/2016 academic session immediately.

5. The minister of transportation, Mr Rotimi Amechi should apologize to the Ijaws and the entire Niger Delta people for his careless and reckless statement about the siting of the University.

6. The Ogoniland and indeed ll oil polluted lands in the Niger Delta must be cleaned up and compensation be paid to all oil producing communities.

7. Mr Nnamdi Kanu, the Leader of IPOB must be released unconditionally as the court said and immediate referendum be conducted among the IPOB communities to decide whether or not to stay in Nigeria as their country.

8. The Niger Delta Amnesty programme must be well funded and let it continue to run effectively.

9. All APC members that are indicted in any corruption related cases should be made to face trial like the PDP members. Otherwise Buhari should shamefully forget about this nonsense anti-corruption fight.
10. All oil multi-nationals and foreign investors should observe this ultimatum, as their business interest in the country must be first target.
