Don't let the naming scheme confuse you, the name used is based on your location

Redmi 5 plus(China) = Redmi note 5(India)
Redmi Note 5 AI(China) = Redmi Note 5 Pro(India)

For us in Nigeria we have access to the China devices, hope you get the picture now?

The full rom is 1.6gb which is working for everyone

I don't know how this can be done. I haven't unlocked bootloader, not to talk of now flashing roms. I don't want to stress at all. Can't I just wait for another OTA update?

Your best bet is to use another file manager to find the large files on your device. You can use "ES File explorer" for this purpose.
I'm suspecting MTK Logger.

To be honest, the note 5 battery isn't great on low light ... And overall I don't seem impressed with my camera even in day light

I have to say mine cos others have dropped rev reviews here. Really don't know what. Is wrong

This is coming late though; below are what I could gather from the owner. Tried to observe the device and can say the design is okay but the audio system is a setback (can be compensated for by using earpiece).

The battery is somewhat draining, not so fast, but somewhat like not fully optimized, probably software upgrade would handle that, but the fast charging is fantastic.

Picture quality is good, but not so good under low light condition. Flash doesn't compensate much for it, adds some kind of stupid tint and the camera processing compounds to the problem by adding noise.

Everything else is good, from what I observed from the little time I handled it. The feel at hand is good too.

MTK logger? It's not possible na, phone is not an MTK phone.

Depends on where you are coming from, whether flagship or top mid range. Generally mid range phones don't do well in low light conditions. As for the day light pics, don't know why you are not impressed, maybe you over estimated it. But trust me, no device beats it camera wise at same price range.
