I never asked you to mention people's names. If you can't reply without mentioning people's names, then it's funny. What do you gain from that?

Read the entire thread, people from all walks have been insulting your cities and you just chose one person to prove wrong. That's my observation
the guy you are replying is the same person as ilovemystate.

Ilovemystate = asha90 isn't it obvious he has been defending anambra with that moniker? I have decided not to glorify him with a reply.

there must be somtin great about that IBADAN-y does it get MENTIONs from everibodi? SE\SS should just admit defeat, no city (excluding lagos, abuja and probably PH ) is comparable to ibadan interms of everitin-commercially, industrially, educationally, physically, internationally and historically. ibadan is second face of lagos... camparing enugu, calabar, akwa, onitsha, owerri, warri, asaba to ibadan is a big blow...
note: quote me with sensible facts

Ibadan is not suppose to be compared ph. Some one actually compared Ibadan with Asaba and Warri. Like seriously?

When you see a huge sprawling city filled with people, bow down and worship that city. So Ibadan is intimidating. Some of the major companies in Nigeria are in Ibadan. Some of the wealthiest Lebanese in the world live in the city, Harry Akande lives there. Agrited Nig ltd the Israeli Agro allied company is there, Zartech is there. Nigerian Brewries, BAT and etc. Most of the biscuit in Nigeria are made there. Only Lagos beats Ibadan. There are companies too numerous to mention. No SE city can be compared to Ibadan and no city has its spread. That view of limitless roofs when passing along Iwo road is without a match in Nigeria. Only Ibadan.

I grew up in Ilesa headquarter of the first successful indigenous company to be listed on the NSE IBPlc. There is a big five star hotel in Ilesa built by the late Captain Haastrup, Concord Hotel. It has hosted many national conferences of huge organisations like ANA and etc because it has all the facilities. Concord is well known. Ilesa is an ICAN center and it is a hub for chartered accountants. There is no machine part that Prof Makanjuola's Makstech can not fabricate for you. Yinka Oba foam is there. A few distilleries. Vegetable oil plants, nail manufacturing. I went to Cappa for a year for pry, then transferred to Osun college staff school, then the legendary Ilesa Grammar school. There will be close to 100 secondary schools in Ilesa. There is Saro Agrochemicals. IBPLc, Olashore International school, Saro Agrochemicals and etc are companies in Ilesa where people relocate from Europe to take up employment in and Ilesa is cheap to live in. There is electricity but yiou need a gen, then you have your pumpong machine or well for potable water. Road network in Ilesa is excellent. Biggest market is Oba Atakunmosa market then other smaller markets. Hausas are plenty in Sabo, Igbos sell new spareparts while the used spareparts market is dominated by Yoruba. We have Urhobos in the countryside doing palm oil production. Other people workj in cocoa, kolanut and coffee production. Most prominent resident was Dr Lawrence Omole of IB Plc who was awarded honorary Doctor of Science Oxford now late. So how does any city in the world beat Ilesa? Let me know.

When people say brown roof, I laugh. Some of the most intimidating real estate in the country are in Ilesa. I mentioned Concord hotel on Ibala road, visitors on the way there always attempt to enter Chief Tosho Obembe's personal estate. Why? Because it can pass for a 5 star hotel. Tosho Obembe owns a massive building that I believe is worth billions of Naira on Osogbo road. It is the most solid building in town. I think 3 or 4 storey built decades ago, Lawrence Omole donated N10 million read 12 million dollars to the College of Education in Ilesa to build a library. That library may be number one in Nigeria in any higher institution. He also built a health center. Again if you want to see personal estates built when money was money, come to Ilesa.

Outside being state capitals, it is doubtful if places like Owerri are better than Ilesa. Infact an Igbo friend, a shoe designer in Ilesa told me Ilesa is bigger than Owerri. The IB Plc FC of old was based in Ilesa and it was Div 1. Ilesa is also a market for Tokunbo vehicles. People come from the East to buy Tokunbo in Ilesa.

the east is not deserted, I doubt if any other city can compete with owerri and enugu in the west aside Lagos and Ibadan. Enugu is actually more organized and serene than any city in the west, including Lagos.

Enugu has any infrastructure a typical nigerian city has.

Lagos — THE Ministerof Urban Development, Mrs Halima Tayo Alao, has described Ibadan and Aba as the dirtiest cities in Nigeria.

Speaking at a workshop in Ibadan, the Minister expressed displeasure over the environmental sanitation status of Ibadan, believed to be the biggest city in West Africa. The Minister said that in spite of the huge amount government spent on the channelisation of Ogunpa River, Ibadan and Aba still remained the dirtiest cities.
