Gowon has never been seen as Biafran enemy but the Northern oligarch that foisted him on Nigeria & used him as a figure head to prosecute the civil war, when they got fed up they pushed him aside & installed one of their own. That oligarch is still the problem with Nigeria till date.

Gowon sneaks into Igboland and sneaks out. He also chooses where he goes. The last two times he was in Anambra, he was around the Governor at a religious event where knows that he won't be attacked. If Gowon had gone to a cultural event which is most likely to have Biafran supporters, it could turn ugly.

If Biafra is actualised, we are going request an international arrest warrant for Gowon for Biafran war crimes. Of course, Gowon knows he can get away with coming to Igboland for now because we are still in Nigeria. But on the actualisation of Biafra, people like Gowon, TY Danjuma, Obasunjo and others know that they dare not step their foot in there.
