What did the ND Governors do with 13% derivation, NDDC projects, Federal Allocation, Ministry of ND Intervention etc.

For ND, the enemy is not FG, the REAL enemy is their own people.

What about Nigeria in total that Buhari is the president
We are the enemy not government
Think before you post

The right questions are:

1) Why does the Nigerian Govt concentrate developmental projects only in its Capital?

2) Why are all the big corporations mandated to relocate their Corporate Headquarters to wherever our Capital is?

3) What stops the FG from personally developing the ND, the way it did Lagos and now Abuja?

It is only in Nigeria and maybe other African countries that the government locates every important parastatal in the capital. These things are consciously located at different states to create federal presence.

Imagine if all the oil companies have their head quarters in the Niger Delta? You think they will use and abandone the people and their environment?

My Guy, do not question what is beyond your imagination but under your nose. What concentration do you want from the Federal government again

See this analysis
Akwa Ibom (N260 billion or $1.7 billion) Rivers (N230 billion or $1.5 billion) Delta (N209 billion or $1.3 billion) Bayelsa (N173 billion or $1.1 billion) Lagos (N168 billion or $1.1 billion) Kano (N140 billion or $0.9 billion) Katsina (N103 billion or $0.7 billion) Oyo (N100 billion or $0.6 billion) Kaduna (N97 billion or $0.6 billion) Borno (N94 billion or $0.6 billion). “Many Nigerian states receive revenue allocations which are larger than the budgets of neighbouring countries such as Liberia ($433 million), Gambia ($210 million) or the Benin Republic ($1.47 billion).

The top two recipients of state allocations – Akwa Ibom and Rivers – received $3.2 billion combined, which is about half of the entire budget of Ghana (about $6.4 billion),” Okonjo-Iwela pointed out

Their problems is not from FG but their state.the federal allocation which are been located to their states for years what are they doing with it Highest allocation for that matter.let them stop this madness because it will cause more ham than good to them.

Do not mind them. What is their state governors doing with all the allocations they've been getting since 1960. These people are just like the South Sudan. After South Sudan parted ways, Sudan itself is doing better than them. They better wake up before its to late and start holding their leaders and governors responsible.

Though I am very sure that it is the bastards that you see taking up arms as the true sons know that their leaders are their problems. The greedy politicians are using the bastard ones to destroy their community.

In fact, Buhari should relocate the headquarters of the Nigerian military to ND and further help destroy their lives the more while we are busy diversifying the econmy.

Nonsense lineage.

Err, you sound like a racist white person that's telling black people that: yes, we built our civilisation on ya backs during slavery and colonisation, but there's no overt slavery and colonisation today. And we give black people the following:

- Foreign aids.
- There's affirmative action for black people.
- Visas to visit and study in the west.

So, what's ya excuse for still being the dark continent that development/progress is elusive to and a non-achieving people at the bottom of the totem pole of everything?

Very True

Proudly 5%

We, the 5% has decided to keep our oyel. hE should sell his cows, groundnut and rice and use the proceeds to carter for his 97%.

PERIOD.
.....and who's going to be managing your oil money for you? Your same leaders that they've be paying the 13% derivation, the same leaders that has been managing the NDDC, all the same governors that has been taking money that's supposed for development there and they are not doing anything?

You still don't get it, do you? Money meant for the development of your area has been paid to your governors now and in the past. Imagine states like Ogun, Ekiti, Osun don't get upto half of what is been paid to Bayelsa state, but yet, go to those states capitals and see how the little they have has been managed.

FG is not helping any state to build their cities. Their governors are doing that. That's why they were elected. But, to be honest wahala of militant is only common in Bayelsa and Delta state, and truly it's because their leaders are crooks.

These pictures are from Port Harcourt alone.

Why not zoom in and see if those pictures remain attractive?

Nonsense. Lets be reasonable for once and put sentiments a side. Compare it with porthacourt, uyo, ekot, bonny and brass not with that. Besides, Lagos generally was not built with oil money. Lagos was built with investment (both locals and internationally), being former capital.Abuja, i may agree to some extent but I learnt that asari dokubo spent billion of dollars to build university in bennin republic and he has nationality of the country. That would have gone a long way in ND.

You nailed it sir!, it's the order of the day now to gather up with some lazy locals and start destroying a developing community, and like a bro said earlier, by the time attention is shifted from oil, let's see what remains of the region.

If Jonathan was in office as VP for a couple of years and as the C in C for six years and they have nothing to show for it, then Bubuhari has not committed any sin yet in one year.

The region has legislative officers at both state and federal level but they are busy buying the sportiest of expensive automobiles and partying abroad, not minding the situation at "home", so who is foolin who?

How did government reward Tompolo that invested in Nigeria? By confiscating his properties and labelling him a criminal. Those signs will not encourage any of them to invest in Nigeria.

True the Niger delta has being neglected

but if the truth most be told our so called leaders has failed us

imagine asari dokobo decided to go to Benin rep to build a university

if we must blame others of stealing from us, we need to blame ourselves too

I hope the govt and d avengers would negotiate and the money that would be provided would not end in private accounts but used to develop the land

I for 1 don't blame Asari for taking his investment out of Nigeria because the signs were clear that certain elements in d country were not happy with d enpowerment had n would do everytin 2 cripple them. OBJ did it 2 SLOK airlines, Ameachi has done it to Tompolo's Marine University so it was a wise decision 2protect his investment

Even if that reason is enough, the people of Niger-Delta should learn what we call public participation. The oil rich region has an abundant of rich fellow who can toil the region around, anyway bulk of them works at the oil firms situated there, after all Jonathan was President for six years he didn't initiate the Ogoni clean up, Asari-Dokubo had enough money to buy war ship and several of them wasted good money on frivolities. If persons like Asari have used the money they acquired illegally judiciously for their area, Nigerians are not that wicked, we would have called for pardoning them.

The 13% derivation being paid to the leaders they worship in Niger delta are enough to build more than what you see in Lagos.
Most of what is in Lagos are invested by people. Nobody including you and the Niger delta leaders will invest where they burst pipelines, kidnap people and collect ransoms
Most of the Niger delta governors and their leaders are the owners of the skyscrapers in Lagos. And they come back home to tell you "Monkey dey work baboon dey chop", instead of you to kill them the next things you do is to go and burst pipeline to pollute your environment, the leader will leave immediately for Lagos or Dubai. Chei werey
May be when you learn that Nigerians own most of those skyscrapers in Dubai, you will start fighting UAE government. Then you can call it "Monkey dey work King Kong dey chop" if you like

Well, it seems you're a terrible student of history. There's no correlation between the British colonisation of both Singapore and US...and that of Africa. While the Brits saw US and Singapore as new homes in foreign lands and did all they could to develop those places (the nucleus of the US ruling class today is still Anglo-American, Scottish, Welsh and Irish) - Africa was exploited and left in darkness. And till today, there's still indirect colonisation of Africa - Francophone Africa, apart from Algeria to an extent, is the most overt form of the colonisation still going on in Africa today.

Now back to ya retort. How can they fight only their leaders when the FG takes almost every revenue that comes from them? What you posited would only make sense if their leaders are in control of the resources. However, that isn't the case.

As for Spain and Catalonia: only 1/8 of Spanish income comes from Catalonia, unlike Nigeria that earns close to 80/90% of its FOREX from Niger Delta oil. And the Spain government did well in developing Catalonia and it's also a semi-autonomous region. Can the same be said about Nigeria vis-a-vis Niger Delta? Apples and oranges, mate.

Be logical, don't be emotional. I don't know what part of naij you're from - but ya region would fare better without oil if the stakeholders can look inwards to create wealth.

Go back and read my post again. Every state receives allocations from FG. The allocation is not only for development of infrastructure. Abuja and Lagos wouldn't be the way they are today if all they got was federal allocations. FG consciously invested in them and made sure almost everyone else did.

Maybe we need to relocate our Federal Capital from region to region. grin
