[size=13pt] The Fundamental Human Right [/size] It was reported that a great number of Nigerian do not know their right, this trend has added to ill occurrence in the country, like the common sexual assault. There are may human rights, with 7 of them being fundamental: 1. Right to Life: Everyone regardless of age, sex, etc has right to life. 2. Freedom of Speech: Everyone has the freedom to speak. 3. Freedom of Assembly: Everyone has the right to gather friends, family and other people and hold meeting. Although, everyone has freedom of assembly, no one has the right to force anyone to join any assembly. There are times when government place ban on assemblies for sake of peace. 4.Freedom from Fear: No one is expected to live in fear, everyone has the right of freedom from fear. 5. Freedom from Want: Everyone has to right to free themselves from want. Everyone has the right to buy clothes, houses, cars, etc so as to free themselves from want. 6. Freedom from Discrimination: Everyone has the right against discrimination. No one has the right to discriminate against another person. 7. Freedom fo Movement: Everyone has the right to move about freely. But freedom of movement does not gives anyone the power to violate another person’s right. There are also some other human rights which include 1. We are all born free and equal; 2. No slavery; 3. No torture; 4. You have Rights, no matter where you go; 5.We are all equal before the law; 6. Your human right right are protected by the law; 7. No unfair detention; 8. The Right to Trial; 9. The Right to Privacy; 10. Right to a Nationality; 11.Marriage and Family; 12. Freedom of Thoughts; 13. The Right to Democracy; 14. The Right to Play; 15. The Right to Work; 16. Copyright; 17. The Nigerian government disregards these rights. As a Nigerian u don't even have right, the court is not the last hope of common man. These rights are observed in other parts of the world. Just imagine the other day, a soldier was breaking side mirrors of cars because they did not adhere to instruction. We are actually living in a zoo. Some animals are more equal than others. |
