Who Wrote The Book Of Hebrews? by Nobody: 1:52am On Jun 05, 2016
The author is not named. Except for hebrews and 1 john, every epistle of the new testament designates its author by name and title. I cannot associate the book with paul because the method which paul used in writing all his epistle is different from the book of hebrews like the writer of hebrews quotes the old testament differently from paul; paul frequently picks up a new stream of thought before he finished the one he is treating. The writer of hebrews never does this.
The question now is if paul is not the author of hebrews, who is?

The identity of the author is lost to antiquity but as you rightly suspect, it is NOT Paul, the Christology of the Epistle to the Hebrews is far above the pay-grade of Paul. More likely the true author was a close adherent or associate of Paul. One school of thought has it that the author could be Clement of Rome, more likely in my view is that the author is Priscilla, the female early church leader, erudite and a close associate of Paul.

No sir. In fact, the writing style is completely different from that of Paul, additionally the leading themes of the letter are absent from all of Paul’s other letters, and the method of argument bears no relation to Paul’s other writings. And why would you think Paul wrote it? Unlike Paul’s own writings, the book of Hebrews is anonymous. There is no reason to think that Paul wrote Hebrews, it was only included in the canon because church fathers argued that it “seemed” like a work Paul could have done.

Does he even know what 'Paul's writing style' is? to start with... He doesn't so don't expect any reasonable objective discussion here.

There are other traditions which hold that the author was either Timothy or Mark or even Luke.

Possibly, Mark, being the most gnostic or even Luke.

It's traditionally believed to be Pauls epistle until just end of second century .The Epistle to the Hebrews was included in the collected writings of Paul from a very early date. For example, the late second-century or early third-century codex . Eastern church know the facts . It's only western church that brought about such doubt . The writing style is none other but Pauls . No other apostles wrote that way .

There is no dispute that the book was “believed” to be a work of Paul, But generally Paul was most careful to identify himself in his writings Paul however did not append his name to the Epistle.

Here are the words of Origen:

"But who wrote the epistle, in truth, God knows. The statement of some who have gone before us is that Clement, bishop of the Romans, wrote the epistle, and of others that Luke, the author of the Gospel and the Acts, wrote it. But let this suffice on these matters".
Eusebius. C.H. Chap 25v14.

The only reason there was dispute of authorship was simply because he didn't append his name as in other books . But it's believed that he did it deliberately so that the Jews who hated him would not reject the writing. Because God had told him the Jews would not accept his (Pauls) testimony of christ .

Peter acknowledged that paul wrote an epistles to the Jews .

2 Peter 3:15-16
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

The question is if the book of heberews is not the epistle Peter made reference to then where is the epistle Paul wrote to the Jews . Secondly we can almost lay side by side many of the teachings of the book of Hebrews with other Pauline revelations .

Simply not true, there's no evidence for this.

You say Peter acknowledges that Paul wrote an epistle to the Hebrews. I say, not quite true.

What you really mean is that the author of 2 Peter wrote the acknowledgement. Here is the reasoning, if 2 Peter had been written by Peter himself then it must have been written prior to Peter's death circa 65–67CE, but we know that 2 Peter post-dates most if not all of Paul’s work, it refers to Paul’s epistles as “scripture” the only time in the NT such a reference is made by another book in the NT canon, thereby indicating that the "Pauline Corpus" is fully formed at the time of writing 2 Peter. Therefore we have a probable dating of 2 Peter at the earliest to around 80-90CE, long after the death of Peter, it’s supposed author.

The Book of Hebrews is dated to around the year 64CE due to the use of tabernacle terminology placing its composition prior to the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple, according to the Catholic encyclopaedia.

This simply demonstrates that the author of pseudo-epigraphical 2 Peter had a good working knowledge of the Epistle to the Hebrews written decades earlier and at best wrongly or at worst falsely attributed it to Paul. It is not evidence that Paul authored the letter.

I would also add that the Muratorian canon, the oldest known list of the books of the NT compiled at its earliest around 170CE did not include the Epistle to the Hebrews.

The explanation was given by no one else but Eusebius, the father of church history, he explains that Paul wrote the epistle in Hebrew, leaving his name off so that it would be read and received more readily by Jews who hated him and would not want to listen to him

He who wrote the Ten Commandments for Moses wrote The Book the Hebrew by Christ Jesus during His 40 days sojourn on Earth before His Resurrection.

Not quite, it was the view of Clement of Alexandria recorded by Eusebius that Paul wrote the epistle in Hebrew and took his name off, it was pure conjecture on the part of Clement of Alexandria.

Eusebius did state very clearly that the epistle was heavily disputed.
