Today's national wealth solution to tommorows poverty. Instead of teaching the people, and creating a conducive environment for them to be able to fend for themselves, they are been fed as if they are dogs. ALMAJIRI system has been elevated to official level!. “Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, but teach him how to fish, then you feed him forever”, so says a Chinese adage. Instead of carting away the money meant for improving the lives of the people and then turning around to give them hand-outs, Nigerian rulers should try and provide education and vocational training for agberos, alayes, Almajiris and save the nation the horror of the quarterly slaughterings that go on up North, perpetrated by their leaders with these Almajiris as their devilish instruments. I suppose Gov. Shekarau who introduced this practice believes he is doing a pious work. I will rather tell him that this public act of piety does nothing in disguising the criminal activities of these leaders against their people. They have messed up their people so much and reduced them to mere beggars, while the few priviledged ones among them live like Arabian kings and princes. It is a shame! |

I guess the whole states should start releasing feeding money to its citizenry during festivals like oro, okonko, arugungu, christmas, ikeji, eyo etc . How will they share this food and who will be sharing it?. I bet you, they won't spend up to 10million in this exercise. EFCC has been fooled once again. |

Whats the big deal Ramadan is for muslims the north state Kano is islamic - they have sharia Law thats their business if they want to release money. When its Christmas time, all the states in the South can Releases N120million for Christmas/Easter - i see no wrong in it. Mind you these almarijis probably dont look forward to anything besides Ramadan because thats when its fastin and guaranteed eating time. They can have it cause their leaders dont give them shit for the rest of the year. If it were in the south and Delta,Ondo or Abia gave N120million[$800k] to churches/cathedrals for christmas- all of you would probably say its being Christ like. Leave the north alone focus on the south your own state, like Lagos does, they are progressing and could care less whether Kano gives out its own States money |

Aloy~Emeka: LOL FUNNY Leave them to Ramadan they have different law in the north. You dont want them regulating how south governments spend money do you? NO Post the story but no need to criticize their religious beliefs - if you want money for Christmas go to your government in Owerri, Anambra state and ask for money for gifts. OK lmfao Getting mad because i told you to mind your DAMN business, they dont care what we do in the south, so we shouldn't care what they do in the north. MIND YOUR DAMN BUSINESS MODERATOR SHOULD MOVE THIS TO RELIGION SECTION |
