Good morning Mamas,

I want to share my testimony. I've been trying to conceive for over a year of marriage. Sometimes when we try, I end up having pains and after testing, doctors say it's PID.
I have had a bad episode as a single when I felt my swollen pelvis each time I walk and I didn't know it was PID but I got treated but it left me with discomfort till date.
I was advised to see a gynecologist but was told that my HMO doesn't cover gynecologist for non pregnant staff. I was devastated to say the least and had to put a call to our Chief Medical Director at work and he said I could. I proceeded to Magodo Specialist Hospital where the gynecologist did the TVS himself and said there was fluid in my pouch of Douglas and I may need to do laparoscopy if I don't conceive after a year of which I dreamt before meeting him that he wrote Las...on a small paper that I'll need to do but I told God that I would not conceive after a surgical procedure that I want it to happen without pain.
My marriage was on the brinks of collapse in March as we live in different states. I couldn't go on leave because I had to go only during my ovulation period as I was trying to be strategic been a TTC person.
I planned to visit during a certain period in April but my calendar scattered. My boss needed to travel and I became devastated.
I pleaded to travel for the weekend to discuss the future of my marriage with my DH. She permitted me.
I travelled and hubby didn't want to touch me and had asked me to return back to Lagos. He did perform his duty later.
I pleaded for something for the road as he asked me to leave. I was to return to Lagos on a Monday and Flo app said ovulation on Tuesday.
He reluctantly did the day before and I left on a Monday. I came back to work, cleared my backlog and did some strenuous tasks I left behind.
I awaited my period and it didn't come. I refused to buy test kit as I had a miscarriage one time and didn't want to be anxious. I went to the hospital for a PT after 2 weeks and I was confirmed positive.
The only thing I did physically was to take Combo after the miscarriage episode.
I joined NLP of HICC in March and God was just good and kind to me as the pregnancy restored our home.
I pray that God uses my testimony to bless our waiting mothers.
Happy Sunday and Happy Father's Day.

Theoretically, if you want a female you'd have to have sex before your ovulation and abstain after the egg drops.
So if you don't already know when in your cycle you ovulate, you can start tracking now.

You may already know this...
The egg has the X chromosone.
The sperm has X chromosones and Y chromosones.
When the X sperm fertilizes the egg you get an XX (female) when the Y sperm fertilizes the egg you get an XY (males). X chromosones swim slowly but they live longer inside the uterus. Y chromosones swim very fast but they don't live long in the uterus.
The egg, after its released, lives for some days in the uterus and if not fertilized breaks and sheds itself as menstrual flow.

wat about if one wants to get a male

For a male, the egg has to be waiting before the sperm is introduced so that fast swimming Y chromosones can get to it and fertilize it.

So you'd have to abstain before the egg is released and only have sex after you've confirmed it via transvaginal scan.

Good evening sabi women is been a while I came here! I want to give trying to conceive one last shot, all my clomid trial ended in miscarriages
I want to give letrozole a shot cos I read it works better for pcos patients I am self medicating cos most Nigerian Gynaes are so dumb when dealing with pcos, they keep giving me clomid which I can’t take anymore

I will do all ovulation tracking
Pls tell all you know about letrozole my menses started today
Sorry about your miscarriages.
Clomids job is to help you ovulate and it worked if you got pregnant. The miscarriages may have been as a result of hormonal imbalance...so saying your clomid trials ended in miscarriages and you want to switch to letrozole isn't very correct.

I can't remember the dosage of letrozole but since you are tracking you can include a trigger shot to ensure the follicles rupture.
Good you are taking myo inositol, it's amazing for people with pcos.
However, when you confirm pregnancy do get progesterone support until 12 weeks. Cyclogest suppositories 400mg.

Also, what's your partners swimmer parameters? Hope they're in top shape.

Greetings mamas, I am new here, please what test should I go for if I want to test for infection. Can infection prevent one from concieving? I am asking because staph was detected in hubs semen culture which he has treated with antibiotics. We are yet to re check though
It's not always that the staph detected is actually present in the body, sometimes they pick it from their labs in the process of them getting the tests done. You can do HVS (vaginal swab culture) and Urine MCS. You will be surprised you don't even have it. If you also happen to have, treat adequately with whatever it is sensitive to.
It shouldnt stop you from conceiving, this was my case, the first time we tested for hubby, it had staph we treated, second time staph again, we didn't bother anymore and I conceived after that.

Good evening mummy's,am 5 days late and have being getting negative urine test.....

I took pardodel and letrozole for this cycle....so could it be responsible for the delayed period ....?

Why not carry out a blood pregnancy test to be sure instead of the urine test

I take God beg you,go do hormonal profile,if your progesterone level is low, meet your doctor for progesterone supplements. Leave stc alone

Thank you so much for your reply. Didn't get the STC.

I have been on duphaston even with the last miscarriage at 8 weeks and 5 days. Basically progesterone is not the issue dear. I don't know what is. God help me.
Thanks again

Good evening ma

My wife has been trying to get pregnant for the past 18 months. We did variety of tests, ranging from sperm count, hormonal profile, hsg, pid test and so on but at the end she was diagnosed with high prolactin and anovulation...which they classified as PCOS. I was told my sperm count was good.
She started taking drugs like clomid ,cabergoline, later we switched to fertilaid and also ovaboost. Clomid did not work and it wanted to start having cyst with it so we decided to stop clomid.

Earlier this year,we switched only to parlodel and ovaboost coupled with pregnacare...she got tired of it and stop taking parlodel and ovaboost got finished also ,left only with pregnacare with last month. Fast forward to this month, she missed and period and she decided to check with home pregnancy test kit, loband behind,it was positive. she went for blood test and that also came positive..the doctor told us we should got for ultrasound that it may be false test but this morning, the test came good also, uterine pregnancy. We are so so happy now.

Now my question, is there need to continue with parlodel or pregnacare since she has been a patient of pcos for a while? Because the doctor only gave her folic acid
