NDUSTRIKE: FINAL YR. STUDENT SHOT DEAD BY ROBBERS. By: bodmas kemepadei YENAGOA: A final year Engineering student of the Niger Delta university, has been reported to have been shot dead by robbers in Yenagoa, at the sunny hours of today. According to reports, the sad incident occurred between 2-4pm on Tuesday June 28, 2016, around Amarata community , opposite Diamond bank. It was reported that the victim identified as Obele Wilson, a native of Ogbia LGA council, was at the said location, trying to convince people to process the NDU screening form. He went into this venture following the closure of the institution, due to unpaid salaries to lecturers by the Bayelsa state Government. While Obele Wilson was on it, gun men invaded the place, demanding for laptops, phones and cash, Obele Wilson who tried to argue with them, was instantly shot. Attempts was made to rush him to the hospital, but unfortunately, he died on the way as a result of gunshots sustained. The police is yet to confirm the incident, as at the time of filing this reports, efforts to reach the police proves abortive. Obele Wilson was the immediate past vice President of the National union of Bayelsa state students, Ndu chapter, he was also a very active leader of the Ogbia students union and the NDU-SUG.
