my toyota camry 2001 gear oil dip stick indicates Dextron II or Dextron III
is it appropriate to use Toyota TIV or what brand is available in Dextron II n III

When the engine is cold bro, about 4 hours time after you park.

You can use texamatic 7045e DEXTRON III bought it from mrs filling station @ 1k for a litre, and has been wonderful so far for my 2000 sienna which also recommends DEXTRON II OR III.

ur transmission is not changing gears. May be vehicle speed sensor located on the gearbox. Rat fit don chop the wire. But once scan points to anything inside the gearbox, brace up for a search for a new transmission.

what year is your camry? is it a 4 cylinder or v6?

Hello guys, I had exactly this same problem last week. My mechanic picked up my car for drive shaft replacement and after the change things were great until a few minutes later. Cut a long story short, my 2008 highlander gear box was messed up, it will slip in and out of gear at will. After reading most of the post here I thought I would have to buy a new gearbox but luckily I ran into a guy (mechanic) who asked me to bring the car and that for 30k, he will fix the problem. He was so confident that he told me not to pay any advance, full payment when he's done. Picked up my car the next day and the genius of a guy had fixed it. Now my highlander drives like new without having to buy a new gearbox.
