You don't need 80 lawyers to win even if it's 20 cases ,except you want to intimidate and harass the judges by packing many lawyers per case
the most celebrated law case of all time involving OJ Simpsons and Johnny Cochrane didn't need 5lawyers

Lawyers can only deliberate on cases after investigations by EFCC, thereby making them idle pending investigations.

A case can reliably be handled by 2 lawyers, even as at that,
The number of lawyers is inconsequential because the whole proceedings is bottlenecked by EFCC and not the number of lawyers.okay?
Its still clearly arrant waste of public funds.

How many Lawyers in Total work in the Ministry of Justice?

How many Lawyers work in the Nigerian Police?

How Many Lawyers work in the EFCC?

Lets take a conservative guess and say 15 in each of the above stated Government departments..

How many of them are required to prosecute 1 case?

How many cases in total is the Attorney Generals office pursuing currently?

How many Lawyers do you feel is adequate to prosecute each case?

How many Lawyers are required to work on one brief?

You spoke of Johnny Cochrane, how many Lawyers worked in 'The Cochrane Firm' (Johnny's law chambers)?

Have you ever worked in a high profile chambers and seen how many lawyers work on a legal brief?

Do you know the workload associated with any particular case?

Do you feel a Lawyer just walks into a courtroom and starts firing off of his mouth without preparation?

You do realize that the workload is on the Governments side in these law suits right? Failure to make their case = NO CASE for the defendants to answer.

Your post shows you are clueless about what you just said.

You know fhuck all about law and legal proceedings.

You don't know the half of what it takes to successfully prosecute a case or defend one.

Do you think Saraki hiring a firm with 15 SAN's for his defence was a fool?

Waste of time. Train the police and other relevant bodies to be very thorough with their investigations. No matter the sagacity of a counsel he cannot secure a guilty verdict in a criminal matter that requires proof beyond reasonable doubt.

Are you just daft or Did anybody ask you to read the post in a hurry? The FG constituted a team of 80 lawyers to try high profile cases. The 80 layers were further split into smaller teams (4 each or so). These smaller teams will handle individual cases.

So bros 80 lawyers are not handling a single case.

Thank you the wise one.. it baffles me when some Nigerians find it difficult to read and understand patiently... moreover, the number is quite small considering the number of cases they will be attending to.. this is a nice move if the selections are based on merit.. it's about time we have smart, intelligent, vibrant and eloquent lawyers attend to very important legal issues with the overall goal of quick and fair prosecution

Have you forgotten the senior lawyer that took 80 lawyers to court ( Rhiki Tafar ) Things have changed my brother..the criminals we are dealing with are crafty & subtle,don't think the federal Govt is foolish by taking this stand..it is a commendable step. Let us stop reading negative meaning to every good move of the Govt,that is why we find ourselves in this present state till today. Every good thing that Jonathan did were criticised,now same thing is happening today. Where are we going ?

Lawyers/Courts are one of the greatest beneficiaries of PMB administration. Thousands of mushroom or back market injunctions, petitions even to ECOWAS, ICJ etc, Stay of Executions, Restraining Order, Jurisdiction issues etc. Some cases like the Senate President CCT Jurisdiction issues ended in Supreme Court and started all over again from Appeal Court just by adding a little salt and pepper to the case file. A Superior Court ruling are been over ridden by Inferior courts ruling. Lawyers I hail una....

How does "training" 80 or 800 million APC lawyers change the truth that Buhari's government is hopelessly corrupt, inept, and without focus on national long term goals?
Why not just sack all the lawyers at the various ministries and replace then with northern islamic lawyers with 100% loyalty to the caliphate who will disobey court orders, circumvent our constitution as written, and blame everything on GEJ!

Don't make it look like Lawyers are robots. The lawyers will liaise with EFCC on each case to get required facts to prosecute it. Besides, a team of 4 lawyers may have more than 1 case to handle at the end of the day. It's a very good decision by the government.

The PUNCH learnt that each of the teams had four lawyers with a Senior Advocate of Nigeria as the leader.

Finally, I think training a team of 80 Lawyers isn't really necessary weren't they properly groomed....FG definitely have something against these crooks outside the fact that they stole.
