There was nothing wrong with what the pharmacist did.If there is no particular drug,the pharmacist can give alternatives.It's what they are trained to do.
The problem was not taking history and the victim here not volunteering such information.

The eternal war between doctors and pharmacists. When doctors prescribe medications the pharmacist who doesn't know why that particular drug was prescribed will change it and decide to give a 'better' drug. Most times the ignorant patient goes along with it. Only the more enlightened ones insist on getting the drug prescribed by the doctor

some pharmacists are damn gud, i cant remember d last time i went to d hospital nor my family cos i have pharmacists who knows d right drug to give for a particular ailment, he was just unfortunate to meet a quack.

You have to make sure you read the instructions and warning on everything you use,most especially drugs and foods.i check most food very well before consuming

Not the pharmacist fault at all especially when he doesn't have the particular drug prescribed.. everyone shld try to know the kınd of drugs that has a sıde effect on them so try readıng about the drugs u want to take

Very true some of those fellas were never trained in that field after serving a master for like 2 to 3 years they open their own chemist and start administering drugs claiming specialist.

I don't think there's anything wrong with what the pharmacist did. A pharmacist can give alternatives to a drug.

You asked for a drug that works for you abi who prescribed it? Did a doc prescribe it. Besides from the way you narrated this I doubt there was a presciption You just asked for the one you know works for you.


Name the drug that works for you and the alternative he gave.


Nigerians have too much access to drugs as far as I am concerned.We prescribe ourselves and purchase too easily and swallow drugs as if we are eating chinchin. Even the over the counter drugs are abused a lot.

there are many factors that should be considered before the consumption of any drug.

most Nigerians are guilty of obtaining their drugs over the counter!

Get out of here! Are you saying there's no collaborative practice between your pharmacist and your doctor? pharmacists produce the drug your doctor prescribe for you so don't react as if they no nothing. who knows maybe you visited a patent medicine dealer. pharmacists know lots about medications than your doctors. No pharmacist will ever give you a drug you'll adversely to because they know so well about drug reactions.
Before you take any drug make sure you talk to the pharmacist. They are the best resource you can ever get on drugs.
