Stephen Keshi's Son Blasts FG: "They Should Be Ashamed Of Themselves" by obiremy: 6:00am On Jul 30, 2016
Following the burial of Stephen Keshi, his son has taken to social media to express dismay over the way Nigerian government treated his father.According to him, they were neglected despite the government promising to assist them.Below is what he wrote......

'I sat in front of the federal government on national television a few weeks ago and they promised they would honor pops the way he deserves. They said that he has done to much for the country for them not to. They made us change dates to fit the federal governments schedule. But they didn't do as promised, we aren't mad, nor sad, just disappointed, they should be ashamed of themselves. This sends a terrible message to our youth that are striving to do great things for Nigeria. The good thing is that We was raised not to ask for handouts. There will be no more postponements, today the funeral ceremonies began in Benin, the place he loved, where his career started. My sisters, brother and I held it down, with the help of a few others, and now we are putting our pops to rest. We don't owe anyone shit and we can say they owe pops everything. No salt, it is not the people's fault, we still love Nigeria as pops did'.

'Finally pops has been laid to rest. The people of Africa has gained an angel. His loyalty and service has not gone unnoticed, the people of Africa thank you for your support, your prayers were felt. 7/29/2016'.

I think we should learn to appreciate/honour our legends. It will make people more patriotic

There is dignity in silence.

This Keshi's son should learn how to close his mouth,so he does not turn our sympathy for his family into a political discuss.

Your father has not even been buried, and you want to pick a fight with the Government?are you serious?

Nigeria mourns your dad,but we owe him nothing. Your father did not serve Nigeria for free, there are those that died doing things for Nigeria for free, and their family have been gracious not to politicize anything.

There have been hundreds of Corpers, who have died serving this Country. There have been hundreds of Military people who died fighting Boko Haram.

There was Rashidi Yekini and Samuel Okwaraji, and countless others who never got the kind of money your father made from Nigeria, but even served more than him.

Yet you ungrateful lad is still complaining.

What exactly did you want from the Government?when your father left Nigeria,he went to Togo. So what does this mean?it means he was a mercenary who served different countries.

All life is special, and your dad's death is not more important than the death of any other Nigerian.

Go take a look at the videos of Boko Haram slitting the throats of our Soldiers, and yet your father died of a natural cause, far richer than the Soldiers getting their throats slit for the Country.

This over pampered boy should keep his mouth shut, and mourn his dad with dignity.

Mister you said
"There is dignity in silence"
I think you should heed your own advice first. You talk too much these days and most of it is nonsense.
It won't hurt you to keep quiet sometimes, will it?

AND yet the president invited immans in the whole of Abuja to a dinner while a man that served the country through pains is right there in EDO state in his casket. this is unacceptable, if the president or his representative fail to go to the burial ceremony, the least he could do is to honour the promises made to the children.

Nigeria is a scam!

Late Stephen Keshi deserves what was promised by the Federal Government: A state burial. They were promised! Whatever happened to keeping to one's promises? It can never be said of Nigerian governments.

In America (and the likes), they'd ask you not to think of what America would do for you, but what you'd do for America. Cool. But here? You don't think of what you'd do for Nigeria. You don't even think of what Nigeria would do for you. You think of what you'd do for yourself! Because at the end, you're on your own!

If you die (working) for Nigeria, your name is SORRY!
RIP, the Big Boss!

OP Very Misleading topic,it wasn't a letter to Buhari, just an IG comment, and the absence of government officials is what u could've said. The minister of sports, perm sec of ministry of youth and sports and the chairman of NFF should take all the blame for not attending the big Boss's burial. It's disheartening
Anyway Austin Eguavoen hit d nail on d head by asking if Nigeria is actually worth the struggle.
All we can do as sympathetic Nigerians and most football lovers is to pray for eternal rest.
RIP Big Boss

That is sure but the federal government shouldn't have promised to help them to even advice them to change their date to suit the government.

Keshi was paid for all his services' they shouldn't make it look as if the guy did a voluntary work for 9ja.. we've lost great legends like Yekini and Co. The fed govt promises was not a right, but privilege'

This speaks volume of the hatred Buhari has for GEJ
