Authorities of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have suspended Students’ Union leaders who participated actively in the institution’s last protest.

Metronaija authoritatively gathered that three of the suspended students have got their suspension letters, while others have been notified that they have a mail by their departments’ officials.

www.metronaija.com learnt that the suspended students got between two to four semesters each.

Among those already confirmed to be suspended are the SU’s Public Relations Officer, President and Speaker.

“None of them (SU leaders) was spared. The least among them got two semesters suspension,” a source in the UNILAG Senate said.

Sources close to the SU leaders also confirmed the suspension to Metronaija.

One of them said, “We are currently strategising on the way out of the challenge. Nobody is spared.”

They should not let this deter them in the fight against student oppression. There can never be true student representation without student union leaders who are willing to make sacrifices for their constituencies.
All they need now is for the students they represent to stand solidly behind them and fight for them.

stop the discrimination

An advice for Unilag Student union, engage Nans on meaniful mean to tackle the management. From records, it has always been said that an insider information is an added advantage.

If the plan of Nans is not working, try to lobby with insiders like ASUU, Nasu and Ssanu and your demand for reinstation will be met.

This is not an easy step though, but I believe God will see you people through in this struggle.

Their offence is grievous. There are more to this story than this. They both have skeletons in their cupboard

suspending the Sug makes no change in the student behavior if the skul do yana yama na another protest dem find make Kuku suspend all of the student then they should start lecturing the ants lizards and stuffs like that

bloody penalty..School doesn't like protest,but they won't do the needful to avoid students from protesting..This is an unfair judge on the leaders all because the school went ballistic,I am discombobulated already on what schools really want student to turn to.

Lobatan! All these suspensions wouldn't move them. Unionists of today aren't academically inclined, unionism is a lunch pad for them into politics.
