Hi guys, i was stopped by some men from the mosan okunola lcda this afternoon, and they identified themselves as task force officers. They said im supposed to pay yearly dues for my bus, which is not even a commercial bus. Please how true is this?

Lagos is a place where even a local govt, tout can pull a commercial bus aside n delay passengers for up to 10 mins because of 200# ticket. so brother xpect any tin oooo .

Yes, its called vehicle registration. You should also renew your road worthiness certificate annually too. Any other fees on a private vehicle is illegal especially if coming from Local Government officials.

For buses...yea, you need LG papers...not only in Lagos...You can be stopped for same during interstate touring

Yes... there are LG papers for private buses too. I'm not sure if it is same with commercial though.

I don't understand what Lagos State is turning into. I went to refill my cylinder yesterday and noticed all the shops in that area including a nearby plaza were closed. They said some men from Alausa came and locked all the shops since last two weeks without any explanation even when they pay all the local government and whatnot dues! One thing I noticed is, they only locked shops were they feel are making enough money.

What you need for any vehicle are

Vehicle license
Road worthiness
Insurance Certificate.

If the vehicle is branded, you pay for advert on it.
It it is commercial, you pay some other statutory fees or comply with some statutory regulations

Like the poster above me ,its called emblem and its for buses,pick ups,trucks etc even for official car, you can be stop any where in NIGERIA for it.if you go outside lagos mostly to the eastern part you regret the day you bought the vehicle
my take is acquire it to avoid embarassment ,negotiate properly it should not be more than 10k

Its very legal, its done in every state in nigeria, sumtimes they even ask for a badge.....d badge is given wen u make payment so always ask for it, as well as ur waste basket.....2ven if u drive outside lag dey wud still ask for it.

You just mentioned the main reason for their constant harassing of hard-working folks ( REVENUE ), hardly will you see any other bus in their premise only Revenus buses you will find there........ You will wonder what happen to the Education, Health, Social Service etc buses.


The only thing those folk sabi is collecting and sharing money, nothing else.....
