Gernot Rohr bags 2-year contract to lead Nigeria

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Tuesday gave 63-year-old Franco-German Gernot Rohr a two-year contract to lead the country's team.

According to the Twitter https://mobile.twitter.com/thenff/status/762987710600675328 handle of the NFF, Rohr has signed a two-year contract as technical adviser of the Super Eagles.

Officials disclosed he will be presented to the public and media next week.

At the weekend, the NFF technical committee recommended to the executive committee that the former Gabon and Niger coach be appointed after they met with him in Abuja.

His immediate task will be to qualify Nigeria to the 2018 World Cup after the Eagles failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations for second straight time.

Nigeria begin their qualifying campaign in Zambia on October 3.

They are also drawn against Algeria and Cameroon in a difficult group.

In terms of pedigree and achievement I don't think this man can stand Siasia

NFF always like mediocres in as foreign coaches.
Does this man have any top notch track record or career in coaching? This might be the legendary case of pennywise pound foolish!

you take what you get, you think any manager who has an impressive CV wants to come and manage a national team that will be owing salaries or cannot arrange transport for it's players?

At least, pinnick got what he want all so long... I really don't know what a foreign coach can do, that a nigeria coach can't do better... We haven't paid our local coaches, now we want to pay foreign, and they will say there is no money..... With this kind curriculum vitae, he is doom to be sack in a matter of short time....

With this record ,it is obvious the super eagles wont qualify for the world cup.the nff have already sacked the super eagles from the next world cup

this is a shame. does that means Nigerians are substandard?
the outgoing coach did not loose a single match and yet he was sacked. that makes me wonder what is the meaning of success in football administration?
i have a suggestion since we are slaves of the white skin according to those criminals in the NFF. the administration of football management should be given to the experts the we should have a foreign NFF management to correct the wrongs of the glass house.
pinnick should give us a knowledgeable foreign President of NFF for a better Nigeria. he should sack himself
