We were very inexperienced in the attack. the Venezuelans got tired easily and we still couldn't , though we tried.

imagine we played the 2nd half with 11 men.

it will be hard qualifying now. Spain will definitely be a big test. but i hear they are not so good even with Asenjo and Bojan.

wink the refree was too partial and FIFA should take note of dat. booked siasia boiz as if we offended him b4 d match. d boiz played well but shd ve scored ealier. dat would ve kept venezuela at home. well lets c wat d 2nd match will be but i am hoping the boyz will come out better.

so engrossed with the game that i forgot where i kept my laptop.well the hodoo of south america continues.it was a woeful 1st half,bt a more purposeful second.nothing to be proud of.loosing to debutants venezuela isnt fun.bt atleast siasia will learn a thing or 2 here.never the result we anticipated.bt hey! sh, t happens.bt the the italian ref must have been pissed of with his wife before comin to the game and he thought that the nigerians were responsible for that.too many poor calls,bt thats the way of the game.lets see if we can go ahead and beat spain and tahiti, then lets see what the venezuelans came to the table with.bt its quite a big moral booster for them.
Re: Nigeria Vs Venezuela (0 - 1) - FIFA U-20 WC 2009 by naso2(m): 8:03pm On Sep 25, 2009
well its a pity we played this well even with 10 men and still lost.
Sia1 is a super coach anytime. If it was Amodu the second half would have been far worse than the first half. But a good coach reads and change the weak spots.

The game reminded me of the need for a one-touch finisher like christiantus though.

We need to ensure that we dont lose our next game. Remember that  best loosers will be picked from 4 of the 6 groups. Meaning that we can still qualify even as thrid placed team in our group if we make atleast 4 points and score many goals.

All hope is not lost.

phreakabit:

SIASIA IS A GREAT COACH BUT HE OBVIOUSLY TOOK BRIBE FROM SOME PLAYERS,AND HAD TO MAKE FAST CHANGES IN THE SECOND HALF TO BRING IN THE ACTUAL PLAYERS HE SHOULD HAVE FIELDED FROM THE START ZISSSHHH WHY IS 9JA SO F@#$ MESSED UP

how much was your share from the bribe?

@topic

God will surely help us cool down so that we can win the rest 2.    we should be able to win the rest 2, the first half was the worst performers under siasia since i have been watching him

lastly, Argentina lost their first match to USA at Holland 2005, but the still went on to win the tournament so Nigeria case shouldn't be different.

Well that was a good start, Hope Siasia have taken note of the errors in the teams and to put his ass together towards the next match, I know the boys are determined and played their hearts out, The will sure go far in this tournament.

@honeric01
People who no nothing about football like yourself should be a bit more cautious about how they get into issues they no absolutely nothing about, Unlike you i am not a fan i actually do play football professionally so i know what i am talking about , this things do happen in every team,a sponsor pays you get featured even if its for a single match and everyone is happy. I mean it was evident the way he carried out his substitutions and we could all see that the players that came in where far better than the initial one that had just left, this is just my opinion however

I love the way our boys were introduced to racism at our very first match , Some of OUR players cried after the final whistle, A GOOD SIGN!!! Go SIA! I believe you die!

Re: Nigeria Vs Venezuela (0 - 1) - FIFA U-20 WC 2009 by FBS: 9:02pm On Sep 25, 2009
This is what I have to say. SiaOne made a mistake by selecting the wrong players and playing them out of position.

Nwankwo who played No 5 is actually not a defender (apparently to accommodate Haruna). You saw that when he (Nwankwo O.) moved up (as a DM a-la Essien style), things got better in the second half. We had a distributor. The defense in the first half was pissy sh!tty poor.

Haruna should not even smell the green colors AGAIN!

With 10 men we had 61% possession whereas with 11 we were struggling. Siasia got it right in the second half and you could see the multitude of chances we created but our strikers were wasteful.

They played with more purpose during the second half and if they continue like that. . .well, lets hope for the best.

Right now, I'm just pissed. I waited for this match like it was my birthday. Angry

PS: The ref should be castrated.

I just wish the NFF and the whole bloody super chickens can read this thread in comparison with the one where we drew with Tunisia, Nigerians are not stupid, we lost yes it hurts but the difference is we understand, we saw the passion in eyes of the I must commend young looking lads. Let us all bear the pain now for the hope of better players in the future, I was disappointed but I am still happy that the boys tried their best to do us proud.

Race played a big part in that match. I only watched the second half and base on what I saw, a more hopeful team than super chicken but the referee was one hundred against Nigeria. I could believe that a referee can do such as making a call or given ball that met for Nigeria to Ve. Bad and horrible referee. May he roast in hell.
Re: Nigeria Vs Venezuela (0 - 1) - FIFA U-20 WC 2009 by ayusman16(m): 9:42pm On Sep 25, 2009
Halftime scores. Spain 4 Tahiti 0. We are now in a tight situation. We just have to whoop Spain and Tahiti to qualify.
Re: Nigeria Vs Venezuela (0 - 1) - FIFA U-20 WC 2009 by Redman44(m): 10:08pm On Sep 25, 2009
We've suffered a painful loss. The Venezuelans are not going to go far in this tourney. Our boys just gave them the chance to express themselves. We played better in the second half and could have scored up to 5 goals. I'm not going to spare Siasia here. Though he's a good coach, his team was technically deficient in the first half. I knew the Venezuelans would score because of their constant forays into our box eighteen. We gave them too much space to pass and shoot the ball. Our defenders also looked timid. They need to gear up for the onslaught of the Spaniards. Here are my suggestions for Siasia:

1. The Flying Eagles need to beat Spain at all costs. We can do it if we tidy up our defence line and take the game to the Spaniards.
2. Talk to your strikers to stop wasting chances. Tell them to shoot from outside the box eighteen instead of dribbling into the goal area.
3. Let Gbolahan Salami start the next match as a striker.
4. Tell the boys not to be afraid of Spain.

Cheers.

Obiora is the future!

Ref was racist!

Who was that animal on the Nigerian bench who fell on the floor at the final whistle and started wailing like his mother had died. Does that baboon think he is still in Ajegunle? He better learn how to act on the international stage.

Guys, I had to stop at a Cyber Cafe to watch the match online because I knew I won't get home early cheesy cheesy This current crop of Flying Eagles players are not that bad. It is just unfortunate that that Kingsley Udoh and Alex Nkume could not make the squad due to their stupidity sad These two strong defenders could have made the difference today. We all need to thank God for Uche Okafor, the goalkeeper. The lad has a bright future. And he's very young. Okafor made a lot of saves today. Something tells me our boys will beat Spain and turn things around. I'm not giving up yet on Siasia and his boys. I just like the confidence and composure of the goalkeeper- Uche Okafor.

What you talking about. Okafor was shocking. Venezuelas goal should have been a routine save but his hands werent firm enough. He failed to organise his defence all day, was slow off his line, and his goalkicks were simply woeful.

Maybe Okafor is related to him. As far as am concerned the lad is just ordinary. Someone that couldnt hold a simple shot angry
