He is right. The result is not that impressive, moreover she had E8 in Biology which is pass and a minimum of credit in biology is required in her choice of course ; Biochemistry.

B has always been a distinction.

her result has over 5 credits including English and maths which can get her into any university in the country. ..and many parts of the world

Although she would have had to change from her desired biochemistry due to the low score in biology

Perhaps, you haven't heard of the new point system. If she manages to get admission her name will be on the third list!!! Also, B is definitely not a distinction... Maybe when you were in school, it was a distinction, but it most definitely is not one now.
