Good morning. I have the same issue and I've already done the things you suggested sir but it still doesn't come on. It used to come up after hard reset but recently noting works. Could it be something else apart from the BIOS causing this problem or perhaps i need to change the BIOS chip or battery?.

The problem is from your graphics card. Take it to a technician.

If you're using CD you just have to input the command prompt, that's how the Windows on it operate.

It's either you get another CD or use a bootable window flash.
which command prompt will I input?

Check your phone if hot-spot limit is not set, secondly go to the network settings on your laptop, remove all the paired device, and connect again.
I did that it still refuses to browse

LOL.. Who still uses command prompt to install an OS? Well just Google it and see.

How can I upgrade the system's operating system myself
Just download the latest version of windows or any other windows and run the setup, it's quite simple

a copy (replacement) battery from an outlet/shop that shows responsible. This is a big disappointment and calls for concerned as I may involve NPF/CPC to help us settle it

LOL.. Funny, most shop sell replacement battery, the question is how many people can afford original battery?

Of course there are original batteries, they will tell you, do you need the replacement or original, its left for you to choose.

If replacement is let's say #6k depending on the model of laptop, the original will be between #12-14k

How many people can afford to get a #14k battery?

A replacement battery is what it is, unless you paid up to 12k for an original one, you don't have a case.

A replacement battery of about 5k is just try your luck

Good Afternoon Here, I hope the computer engineers are still here responding to our issues.

So, my laptop: HP elitebook, core i7, windows 7, 4gb RAM, around 293 partitioned HDD has this problem of booting. Once I put it on, it'll come on but the screen will become blank then it'll go to sleep. It's after I put it on from sleep it'll display properly. Please, how can I fix that??

Then, the CD drive selects CD/DVD it drives. It doesn't play DVD most times. What could be the cause of this too??

PS: Attached is a picture of the laptop.

i think these laptop models has an internal display switch, a tiny stick like button on the switch palm rest, close to the power button, maybe there is a misconfiguration with some settings that is triggering the display switch off when booting the system, and if that switch is off, the laptop goes into a sleep mode and you have to power it on back before it comes on and display the windows login screen. The cd/dvd drive is of different types and speed, yours might be of only cd rw type not dvd rw that's why it only play CD disc or your drive might be weak

Okay bro. Thanks a lot. I just checked around the system, I can't find the switch. Do you mean internal like inside the system itself??. Then about the disc drive, the laptop itself says it supports DVD. Probably the latter you mentioned is the case (weak driver). Please, what will solve that?? Can changing of HDD solve it??.
Thanks

the internal display switch is on the laptop body, beside the power button, your laptop model doesn't have, old and predecessor models do have, and are prone to such issues. your CD/DVD RW rom is weak, it can be changed, if you want or you can as well get an external CD/DVD ROM for playing your DVD disc.

Your question one needs troubleshooting.

First check the power settings on your laptop and reset it.

Secondly the hall switch on your laptop motherboard might be faulty, the switch put the laptop into sleep/ hibernation mode when you close the lead, there is a magnet around your screen that makes it to function with the hall switch, when the magnet get close to switch it drops the voltage.

Lastly, the screen itself might be faulty, so take it to a laptop technician close to you for proper diagnosis.

Do the discharge trick.

Remove the battery and hold down the power button for like 30sec to 1min, then leave it for like 15mins, connect the charger without battery and power it on.

If it doesn't power on, then issue is from the mobo, see a laptop technician.

Why go for AMD when you can get the Intel?

Just budget #28-30k for Intel pentium new one.
