LAGOS STATE AND ITS FAILURE OF PAYING WAEC EXAMINATION FEES FOR 2015/2016 .

The 2015/2016 WAEC examination has come and gone. It was reported that a total of 1,552,758 candidates registered for the examination. Out of which 1,544,234 candidates, consisting of 825,650 male representing 53.5% & 718,585 female representing 46.5% candidates sat for the exam.

1,393,907 candidates, representing 90.26% have their results fully released. While 158,718 candidates, representing 9.74% have a few of their subjects still being processed due to some errors mainly traceable to the candidates and schools in the course of registration or writing the examination. Such errors are being corrected by the Council to enable the affected candidates get their results fully processed & released subsequently.

In Lagos state, most students after having checked their results, those that checked did print in readiness for the post UTME Screenng. Those that scored above the 180 mark cut off went for the screening in schools like FUTA, UniIlorin, LASU etc only to be told that their results cannot be screened because WAEC has blocked the website for Lagos and some other state's candidates because the govt of the day did not pay for the student's WAEC fees. So, the student's admission is locked on awaiting result group while those whose screening was done before the WAEC website was locked down have gotten admission letters. Imagine the psycological trauma the students most be going through!

Lagos state government, please, what is wrong? Why the delay in the payments? The admission of our future leaders is hanging in the air due to your non-availability of paying WAEC fees of these children which was part of the campaign promises. Kindly attend to this urgently! We have bright and young promising talents amongst these children why do we play politics with the future of our children? This un imaginable bitter experience is what our young children is experiencing and should be quickly sorted out between Lagos State and WAEC! (Pls, copy, share amongst various groups till it gets to the appropriate quarters for neccessary action).
