[size=15pt]Pompey documentation signed [/size]Al-Faraj on the verge of Pompey takeover Last updated: 5th October 2009 The Saudi-Arabian businessman has been holding talks with current Pompey owner Sulaiman Al-Fahim, who is looking to sell a 90 per cent majority share in the club. Al-Fahim only bought the Fratton Park outfit in August, but has failed to produce the neccesary funds to run the club and players did not receive their salaries last week. He is therefore reported to be eager to complete a deal with Al-Faraj and Sky Sports News revealed that an agreement could be reached on Monday evening. A conclusion to the takeover has now edged even closer as the paperwork is understood to have been finalised, with both parties happy with the terms. Al-Faraj has already passed the Premier League's fit and proper persons test after a failed attempt to buy Portsmouth as part of chief executive Peter Storrie's consortium in the summer, which has increased the speed of his takeover bid. Former Pompey owner Sasha Gaydamak, who still owns land surrounding Fratton Park, has also given his required backing to the billionaire's impending arrival. Al-Faraj is rumoured to be prepared to invest heavily in Portsmouth and will make vast amounts of money available for the Premier League strugglers in the January transfer window. ----------------------------------------------------- The EPL is up for sale. |

- I dont think much will change regarding the footballing situation at Portsmouth FC and the latest development. . . Verdict - They have an assortment of dud players and Avram Grant is daft and technically deficient, hence they will struggle all season!  |
