...kindly help to console all Nigerians with this piece! We need to be reading good news at least once in a while to avoid losing complete hope in PMB Administration.

if this is true......then our government must be crazy
for God sake ondo state of Nigeria has d largest deposit of bitumen in africa....which is still in it natural state, instead of tapping it and exporting it they r celebrating one stupid contract that is boosting d pocket of a foreigner.......this is what FALZ D BADGUY called BULSHIT..

But..... I think I read it somewhere that; there is Bitumen in Ogun State!

I've not seen the work of Dr. Fayemi as a Solid Minerals Minister at all!

Modified: I will rather support the importation of Rice! Nigerians can't do without eating Rice in Day, whereas the Nation can survive without importing Bitumen.

We have surplus and untapped Bitumen in Nigeria, but we have very limited quantities of Rice available for consumption!

I'm ain't wailing, rather critiquing..... not everyone that critiques the PMB Administration's Policy is a Wailer, some are Critics with good intentions, thus they critique not criticize!

Infact there is in ondo state.

Total madness

Nigeria has one of the largest deposit of bitumen in the world! Why import?
This alone can create jobs for thousands of youths if properly managed
We have bad Roads, then we have bitumen,
The have jobless youths, then we need those that can work to fix the bad roads,
Minister of everything Mr Fashola, this doesn't need a rocket scientist to facilitate. We have problems and of course we have the solution.
now we ought to be selling bitumen globally even to the PUMA companies.
Pls think else Hmmmmmm
Things are just getting out of hand in this nation. It's time we call these people to order o.
We don't even know what to believe anymore gan self angry

ohh ma ma..why are why importing bitumen, when its right under our feets??...

guy,,,maybe the bitumen from abroad is cheaper....

nobody really buys really a innoson, because you can get okrika-car abroad more cheaper...you can have a car abroad as less than 100dollars,not in best shape, but still running...innoson did a very big mistake by caring about the rest of the world-they should have cared about little things like the local needs...whatever...

Instead of lashing and gnashing your teeth on Nairaland, make use of this opportunity to be a Bitumen supplier which is in demand. I'll do same.

please give PMB more time and send your criticism to the appropriate quarter. PDP spent 16years in power and had more than enough time to make sure we are self-sufficient in bitumen production but never did anything about it. Same with with petroleum sector. Despite the abundance of crude oil in Nigeria, we export crude oil and import all crude oil products which is very insane and shameful. Don't blame PMB for the negligence of a group of people who for 16years wrecked everything!!!

This is the reason Nigeria remains under-develop Nation till now!

We need to CHANGE this attitude of supporting blindly!

Anyone that critiques PMB Administration has become a Wailer?! We should be supporting, suffering and smiling?! Ain't you feeling the hardship that's everywhere?! You think you love PMB more than we do?!

SMH!

shocked if you conduct a thorough investigation the company importing might belong to a top official embarassed
sinkhole:
This must be a wrong news, perhaps they meant Niger Republic and not Federal Republic of Nigeria, because there is a very huge untapped bitumen deposit in Ondo, so why importing? But again, there was a time Nigerian government wanted to import GRASS! Crazy things do happen in Nigeria grin

I don't get. Are you saying that road projects, which will drive economic activities, should wait until we tap our bitumen or substituted for rice? I am not sure you have an idea how much rice is currently being produced in Nigeria. Sometimes, I doubt what we Nigerians even want. So, with the current health of the naira, if you are opportuned to advice government, you will encourage the continued importation of rice. Nawa for you o.

How is this an achievement, Nigeria has the 2nd largest deposit of bitumen in the world, Agbabu in ondo state; I've been there, its so much that bitumen flows in thier drainage system and displaces the water table, this so called good news is a slap on our country...

There is plenty of untapped bitumen deposits in Ondo State, yet our govt has not put in place infrastructure to refine and commercialise it. sad Instead, we are now importing the stuff instead of developing the bitumen deposits in our backyard.

May God deliver us all! cry
