This has been her daily routine for the past nine months since her mum gave birth to their last born. She wakes up every morning to buy the things Mr Adeseye will eat before going to work .her nursing mother and her 2 younger brothers will still be asleep by then. Her next duty is to take care of the baby, after that she performs numerous chores before going to school. Sometimes she wonders if she's a true daughter of her parent. Of the four children she feels she suffers the most but the neighbors aren’t so sure about that looking at the well being of the children.

The Adeseye Family is one of a kind. Mrs Adeseye is a fat fair woman with stretch marks like a zebra's stripe. She doesn't work. she's a full house wife. Mr Adeseye is a short man, slim and changes color every day like a chameleon, he's color can never be determined. He works in a bank as a security but he lied to the wife and children that he works as an accountant in the bank. Mr Adeseye is a minister in their apostolic church but i he can be called the black Jesus. Ebenezer and Dayo are the names of Bimbo's younger brother. their last born is Feyi she's a girl. She's 9 months old. They live in a rented room apartment on the mainland of Lagos. The room is painted blue .On the right side of the room is their bed. On the left side of the room is a 24 inch TV below it is another32 inch TV then finally under the TV is another 52 inch TV. they all work and i wonder how many TV’s they watch at a time. Other things in the room are pictures hanging on the wall. a two-seater sofa and lots of cloths. of course4 they have other electrical appliances like fan, bulb, electric cooker, a GO-TV decoder, and some other gadgets.
Life for them was a bit tough.

Bimbo’s uncle also rented a room apartment in the same compound. He rented the room after living with the Adeseye’s for close to three years. Ade is a black guy bit later bleached his skin. He's muscular like this Calabar dudes. this was due to his previous experiences. he decided to come to the city after finishing his secondary school education in the village. when he got to his sister's place he had to live with his sister and her family in the room. After getting A visitor's treatment for two weeks, his sister sent him out to get a job for himself. he knows no where in Lagos. He just went straight to the park where he was dropped, He talked to some guy who helped him get a job as a porter in the park after months of carrying luggage he stopped the job and started working as a Teacher. The teaching job was better than the previous one he was doing. He later quit teaching due to unpaid salary and secured a job at a nearby restaurant where he presently works.

The compound where they live consists of 24 rooms with 20 occupants. The owner of the house is a late Alhaja who is now dead.. The property is inherited by her children who now took over the management of the house.

Bimbo's first abuse was sexual and it happened when she was seven. She was alone at home when a brother who lives in the same compound with them sent someone to call her. She answered him. When she got to the room it was dark and the only source of light was coming from the TV. Brother Philip is a dark huge man and he's very hairy. He’s known to be a smoker but not a drunkard. He's eyes are always red, even with this characters he's very generous. "Bimbo bimbo" he called her. Sir! She replied. Sit down. He turned took his TV remote and switch his TV from a local station to AV mode where an awful scene appeared. Alas!! It was porn. For a little girl like her she knows it’s not good to see such thing. According to rumors he stopped school at age 6. Just play this game for me Mrs Adeseye said as she hands over a paper to Oluomo. He switched a device on and did as she said. He handed over a ticket to her and told her to send Bimbo to get the lotto result .okay she replied and turned to leave. When she got home she asked Bimbo who gave her the money. Brother Philip gave me the money. "Who is Philip she roared with a loud voice. With a shaky voice bimbo replied that tall brother that’s living in the second room beside iyawo's room. Philip kept on calling her to do the same thing every day for five years without no one noticing or suspecting anything. Now the payment has increased to 500 naira due to the change in the economy of the nation. one afternoon after coming back from school she quickly went to Philip's place to perform her duty this time things were different as Philip thinks she's now matured enough to go to the next level. "sleep on top that bed" he commanded. Now Bimbo replied by saying "but this is not how we do this every day na . "You’re now a big girl there are some things you need to know by now. She admired the large LCD TV on the wall. the room was painted lemon. inside the room was a two-seater and a single setter with a center table. there was a beautiful scenery on the wall. Bimbo was lost in admiration of the room when the voice of Oluomo snapped her back. "se o ti wole ni??(Have you entered??)Yes Bimbo quickly replied. Me am eating oh. Philip wasn’t watching porn. instead he was listening to news. "My mum said you'll be at home all day so i should come and spend the day with you." Its true. Bimbo stood up and strip herself naked. Egbami ooooooo(help me) she shouted as she met her baby black. Tears ran down her eyes as Oluomo came out from the room. He saw the baby black in front of a naked wire in the sitting room. The baby must have being shocked by the electric. he quickly disconnected the whole light in the house. while Mrs Adeseye grabbed Ebenezer. He was black from head to toe, the cloth he wore was burnt beyond recognition, He was as stiff as a log. He was now weightless, Ebenezer was cold dead. Jesu Jesu Jesu!!!(Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!) Those were the words Oluomo was chanting as he ran outside to call neighbors to help. People gathered immediately. Within five minutes tears were flowing from people's eyes. lamentations came from the mouth of others. Mrs Adeseye was held by hefty men as neighbors took the boy to the police station to get a report. "What are you doing here exactly??" a wise old man asked. "She cometh to conlet yestaday resut with her baby and me no well. so she is coming inside to take it. I dey found the result she con shout, i run out" Oluomo replied with a shaky voice. Did I ask you?? the old man asked. "oniranu". He added. Some Wise ones among the people knew he was lying.

While people were wailing over the dead young boy, Bimbo was inside with Philip sleeping. A loud bang on the door woke the two from their deep sleep. "Put on your cloths he told her in a low tone. Who is that?? he asked "Forget who is that brother Philip. I just want to tell you That Ebenezer Bimbo's brother is dead" The voice at the door replied. Ebenezer bimbo screamed as she went to the door to question who said that. She was putting on just singlet. It was Iya tobi that was at the door. Bimbo what are you doing here she questioned. Who did you say is dead?? Bimbo asked. Your brother she replied. My brother?? Where is my mum?? Every one is at Oluomo's place. She didn’t Wait to hear anything. she dashed out with just singlet and wrapper and headed straight to Oluomo's place. "So my guess is true Philip??" That small girl is sharing your thing with me abi?? What?? Philip asked the mother of one who must be in her late twenties. It better not be true Else I will show that girl what I’m made of she said angrily and left the presence of the bad guy..... Let me go and see what is happening at Oluomo's place he said as he took his shirt and hurried down to Oluomo's place. as he was making his way out of the house, he heard People shouting again. This time he ran down to the place he was like 10 meters away from the place where people gathered it was not Oluomo's place. Someone was on the lying in blood. as he stretched to see who was there. Who he saw lying on the floor really broke his heart........It was Bimbo. He ran across the road without looking at anything a car reversing with speed suddenly hit him so hard that he flew to the next house. The same car that hit him was the same car that hit Bimbo. He driver was trying to escape when he hit Philip. People left the driver alone in order to attend to wounded Philip who was gasping. They rushed Bimbo and Philip to the hospital where they went to get Ebenezer's death certificate. Leave the way please the nurses at the hospital shouted as they were pushing Philip and Bimbo on their respective stretcher. They were rushed to a public hospital. Philip was seriously injured he was looking dead. Bimbo already fainted and her cloth was covered with blood. The two was unconscious as they were pushed to the ICU (Intensive Care Unit). You can’t go beyond this zone the doctor told the people who brought them in. People were crying and wailing praying the two doesn’t die. When the noise became too much, they were sent out of the ward and later sent out of the hospital. Only two elderly men with another woman was allowed to wait and see the doctor when he's done taking care of the patients. Mr Adeseye became restless at work. he couldn’t stand at the door anymore. no one has called to tell him his son is dead but blood is thicker than water. He was having this feeling that something is wrong, When he couldn't take it anymore he walked to the CSO's(Chief Security Officer)office. Good afternoon sir. I'm feeling feverish; i Think I’ll need to rest. he said when he got to the office. Who will now take over your shift after you've gone home the CSO asked. Why not just rest in your office he added. Please sir let me go home I’ll work both morning and night tomorrow he pleaded. Okay it's unusual of you. You can go his boss replied. Thank you sir he said then turn to the door and left. He took a bike straight home. Getting t his street, he saw a lot of people in front of their house, He Wondered what might be going on in the house but, he couldn't figure it out because he's not always aware of what is going on in that compound. He saw he faces of people looking so Sad. This gave him a tip that whatever happened isn't god at all. Mummy tobi known as "olofofo" was the first person to tell him sorry. "sorry for what??" he asked the woman for the first time. People shouted at Iya Tobi then prevented her from telling Mr Adeseye about anything that happened that day. An elderly Man called Mr adeseye and took him to a corner. as they move to the corner he noticed the way people are looking at him with pity. It was now obvious something bad has happened to him. "Baba what is happening he asked the old man when They got to the corner. You have to be patient my son the man replied. You see we have to be careful in whatever we do in life. in anything we do we should always thank God. The Sermon was going on well until the man mentioned that God gives and God takes away. The Phrase stroked him so hard. Who is dead?? He asked the old man. My son no one died. But someone has gone to rest. the man replied. What?? Mr adeseye screamed this time hefty men were around to hold him. is it my wife or Bimbo?? Your wife is inside and Bimbo has gone ou a neighbor replied. Then what did God take away?? he questioned You have to be strong for what you're about to hear, The old man continued. You see God will provide another its just patience that you need to overcome this time of trial. You see my brother Your son has gone to rest with the lord. Mr. Adeseye screamed so loud that more crowd gathered. Where is he?? Where did you keep him?? You must be joking. What happened to him?? this were the questions he asked everyone as he went into their room. getting to the room, He met his wife crying. He didn’t say a word to her instead he went to the back of their door to get a cutlass. What did you do to him?? he asked in a loud angry voice. People came around to interfere but the door was locked. I will cut you into pieces he said as he lifted up the cutlass to hack the woman to death. People heard Mrs. Adeseye scream so loud ahhhhhhh she screamed in pain, and Mr Adeseye came out sweating with blood stains on his shirt. No one knew what went wrong in there. They didn't hear any voice inside the room...... His eyes were filled with rage, His fist were tight?? Where is Bimbo? he said with a loud voice. This time most of the mourners ran away. Muderer they screamed as they made thier way to their various rooms and houses. The old man didnt run instead he called him"alakurin(young man)" come over here. Your daughter is at the hospital. A car hit her on her way to see her dead brother. Wait!!! where did my son died?? what killed him?? he asked impatiently. He died at Oluomo's place. ehn?? Who took him there?? What killed him i want to know. and where is he?? "listen Mr man you have to take it easy. let me tell you all that happened. the man began the narration. Your wife went to Oluomo's place to get something then your son crawledup to a naked wire and he got shocked to death. Bimbo was rushing to the scene when she got hit by a vehicle and One of your neighbor also got injured. What is my wife doing with Oluomo he asked as he made his way to the backyard. Hefty guys stopped him from entering the room again. he didnt argue with anyone. he pretended to be okay but they knew he's not, so He was held down and different elders sat him down giving him advice. for about 10 minutes all seemed to be well until he suddenly got up and tok a cutlass with him. He ran so fast that no one could catch up with him. People in front couldn't stop him because he held the cutlass as if he wants to hack someone to death. he didnt go to the direction of Oluomo's house instead he went to another steet to distract them. Silently he took a shortcut to Oluomo's shop. He didnt knock before entering his house. He met Oluomo sitting on the sofa. Immediately the illiterate sighted the cutlass, he tried to run away. Mr adeseye threw the cutlass at Oluomo. Oluomo was known to be sluggish but sighting the cutlass gave him extra speed. he ran towards the Tv trying to make his way out, when Mr adeseye threw the cutlass again but instead it hit the TV. this was what made people outside knew there was something wrong. When the cutlass hit the TV it created a sound like an explosion. Some people ran away leaving others there. It was indeed a tragic day in coker street. Yeh!!! Egbami!!! was what came out of Oluomo's mouth as he came out of his house. Soe strong people tried to get the cutlass from Mr adeseye but he was damn too strong. Now i know you're useless and foolish. The old man said to Mr adeseye. Your daughter is in the hospital, your son is dead and the next thing for you to do is to kill someone again abi. You locked your wife inside no one knows if she's dead or alive and you're here fighting. Whats wrong with your brain?? These words made Mr adeseye calm down. Who will take me to the hospital he requested. I will said the old man. He gave his room key to Iya Tobi and went with the old man. getting to the hospital they were directed to the ICU the conversation going on in the room got him scared as he heard one person asking the other if the girl will make it. It is finished he thought. He sat in the reception waiting for the doctor because he was sent away from the ICU when his disturbance was too much. The doctor later came out to meet him. Are you Mr adeseye he asked. Yes sir he said jumping up. Your daughter will need a transfusion because, she lost so much blood. you should see the nurse immediately to test your blood. as the doctor was about to leave, a nurse came shouting Doctor! Doctor! Doctor! The girl Her vitals are not stable, I think she's gone. What?
